Re: Jem's latest project 'Dinner for Schmucks' = "I'd Hit That"

The whole look in that FOD! video made me think of Animal (the Muppet)...and given that it's one of my favourite Muppets, I'm not complaining.

I'm hoping this is somehow related to the film, so...it was mentioned that Steve Carell will be on the Colbert Report sometime next week (which I'm guessing is to promote the film). Looking forward to the ensuing hilarity, though.

Re: Concerts

Now that the Jazz Festival is going on, I can add in my $0.02 here. I've only been to some of the outdoor/free concerts, but no complaints so far. One of the larger events advertised was for the local trip-rock duo Beast, which I'd never heard of up until then, but I went with a friend to check it o...

Re: The thread of great happee!

Ryche, on Canada Day each city usually holds some kind of celebration including a giant cake (1,000 pieces, apparently). I remember this from my youth. Unfortunately, we got there too late for cake, the celebrations were lame and we got rained on. :( Oh well. Glad others are having a good day. I wa...

Re: The last thing I bought.....

I want to see this too! Patterned toast; who'd have thought? It's amazing how much stuff there is on the market

The last thing I bought was...a sandwich at a downtown market. Spicy sausage with sauerkraut, olives, banana peppers, and Dijon mustard on a small baguette. Decadent. :tonqe:

Re: Hey, I'm Studying Here!

I'll be back in school by mid-to-late-August, and my transfer to the Theatre program went through (a while back, actually...) so I will be saying goodbye to life beyond my studies for a good chunk of time.

I've been getting into Strangers with Candy of late...really, any of Stephen Colbert's work. (Raven in Wigfield...now that's something. :yawinkle: )

It's not that I mean to be a lurker--I don't have as much to say.

Re: How to be the most beautiful girl in the room

The lip balm thing was icky on TV because Dr Oz made us aware that because it's on our lips, we ingest a certain amount every time we wear it, and after 10 years it adds up to 7 POUNDS of PETROLEUM!!! He had a huge jar of petroleum that would put you right off ever using it again. The "...

Re: Seen any good movies lately?

It's not a film as much as films--I rented a collection of short stop-motion animations by the Brothers Quay.
Creepy, cryptic, and altogether fascinating.

Flat ginger ale is one of the few soft drinks/sodas I like. I can't tolerate carbonated drinks.

Re: Accents: Or How I Learned the Difference Between Cop and Cap

I have a much more annoying habit of repeating accents. If I have a teacher who speaks with an accent, then later on when discussing the classwork/quoting the teacher I will slip into the accent the teacher uses. This is not meant to mock the teachers in question; I respect them all, but as an actor...

Re: What are you listening to?

I've been getting into a major Cirque du Soleil listening phase now that the tent for the soon-to-be-premiered show has just been set up. I've also checked out the soundtrack to another non-Cirque show that features both a former director and a former composer for several shows. The track Samurai is...

The "prostitute" shirt was seen again Friday, complete with matching jeans and black scarf. The wearer has not been asked for a "price list"... yet.
