Re: Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra

Yeah, that's a great one of Age
That was when he was getting us all to go "Hey!" on cue whenever he pointed (as part of one of the songs), and then he started pointing at different sections of the room. We did well for a while, but then it naturally descended into chaos. Good times.

Re: Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra

Hi again everyone, sorry for popping in and out like this  Afternoon Delight and Push it? Maybe I'm thinking of a different song, is that the one that goes, "Ahh push it...push it real good...can't you hear the music pumping hard...like I wish you would...Ahh push it...." Um... yeah I...

Re: Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra

Hey Helen  Yeah, it was a brilliant set, so good to see quite a few I hadn't seen before :D And yes, Cry Me a River is AMAZING. So wonderful. Oh, and I forgot to include before, they also played Dreaming of You and I Could Never Take The Place of Your Man  Andy's shorts were hilarious (e...

Re: Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra

Hi everyone! It's been a while, I know, but I just had to share some memories from last night's epic WIUO gig here in Sydney. In short: It was amazing. Pure, unmitigated joy. The venue was great, the crowd was awesome, and I think the Orchestra were having a lot of fun. Oh, and they also rais...

Re: BOY (aka The Volcano) - Taika's new feature length film

Glad you guys like :D And sorry, but no photos or signatures... I had my camera, but felt a bit weird about getting it out in a fairly "intimate" setting, so decided against it. Sorry :( I was sitting with my friends pretty much dead-centre of the (quite small) theatre. Oh, and I thought o...

Re: BOY (aka The Volcano) - Taika's new feature length film

Hi guys :D  Okay, so there's not a whole lot to tell about the Q&A, it was pretty low-key. It was great though, and I just have to say on a brief superficial note: Taika's gorgeous in real life  It was so awesome seeing James as well, and he got a big round of applause when he came o...

Re: BOY (aka The Volcano) - Taika's new feature length film

In related news that hasn't been posted here yet, Boy won the 2010 Sydney Film Festival Audience Award for a Fiction Feature Film. First time in 20 years a Kiwi film has won! Go Taika! I was just going to post that myself  So awesome!! :yay: List of Syd Film Festival winners: http://sff.org.au...

Re: BOY (aka The Volcano) - Taika's new feature length film

You're right, Taika really does have a gift for that delicate balance, it's wonderful to see :D BUT, I have to say, for my money Boy is streets and streets ahead of E vs S. As I think I've said before, I love EvS for its intentions, for the ideas behind it and its heart, but I don't believe it was e...

Re: BOY (aka The Volcano) - Taika's new feature length film

Okay, so I got to see BOY yesterday afternoon as part of the Sydney Film Fest :D Where to begin..? I'm only going to speak very generally because I don't want to spoil a single moment of it for anyone. I guess the Reader's Digest Condensed Version of my review is just: Wow. There are very few films ...

Re: 1353 (Woo a Lady)

one more small change Venus, I think "Very hard look if you're trying to woo a lady" should be "Very hot look..."

Otherwise, awesome! :thumb: thanks so much I love this song :D

Re: Uke playing videos

I didn't record these guys because they involve a uke, but they do. And they're awesome.
Enjoy :D

They're called Polytecnik, and they're regular-ish buskers around where I live (inner west Sydney)

Re: I Believe I Saw a Ghost Last Night

I saw our old family dog after she'd passed away when I was younger, which was nice :) The morning I left at 3am to go be with my dad before he died one of my housemates (woken by me leaving) felt someone in her bed with her, and then felt them climb over her to leave. She wasn't freaked out though,...
