Re: Learning Languages

I love languages! My first language is German and I'll be more than happy to teach people or help out with useful phrases. I've lived in Finland for a while so I'm also quite fluent in Finnish. Now trying to learn Swedish (Finland's second language), which is actually not so hard being another Germa...

Re: Welcome to Uke Corner

Ooo! Fancy! Real notes! ;) I tend to play uke/guitar much as I used to play piano: by ear. I really should get better about learning the proper notes and such. I don't play the uke by notes either...which is why it just took me half an hour to count and write down the notes above  Come to thi...

Re: Welcome to Uke Corner

Congrats on the cheap Mahalo, Silent :D What does it look like? (yeah, I'm shallow like that) Here's my Mahalo. http://www.dukeofuke.co.uk/images/mahalo-blue-s.jpg Bob's much more handsome, but he's still a no-show. Just proofs that appearances aren't everything. Ok, I'm saying that now, but I'll p...

Re: Welcome to Uke Corner

I even managed to figure out and play Wholly Molly from the EvS soundtrack last night, the reason why I bought a uke in the first place. What did you get for that, note wise? I'm curious to match up with what I guessed at (which I can't remember off-hand at the moment). Ok, here's my attempt of cho...

Re: Welcome to Uke Corner

My internet uke still hasn't arrived (I think his name is Bob). I got so sick of waiting yesterday so I went and bought a cheap Mahalo in the supermarket. I'm not sure what to do with Bob once he arrives, but I don't even care at the moment. The Mahalo is just the sweetest and most entertaining thin...

Re: CD liner notes?

Aw, baguette, you're a star! :thanks: Special thanks for the number at the end. I'm sure it's Jemaine's telephone number. Only with the individual numbers carefully rearranged.

I never realized there were horns on the Bowie track. *starts iTunes and squints ears*.

Alas I think this is one of the few Escher works that wouldn't involve weeks of photoshopping to pay a tribute both to the artist and to Jem.
