Well, I've never smelled Jemaine, but I stood quite close to Ralph Fiennes once, and he smelled of soap and his hair was damp. I think he'd just showered. It was pretty freaking awesome.

eta: I've never heard a lisp from Jemaine either.

Re: Jemaine Spotting

There are quite a few celebrities who live in Atlanta ... sadly I'm either not interested in them or wouldn't know them if I tripped over them on the sidewalk. A lot of them are hip-hop / R & B / rap artists and I just don't know them by face. HOWEVER, Elton John also lives here a good deal of t...

Re: Best Song of Season Two?

I voted for Hurt Feelings too. Although the lyrics are of course silly and funny, the chorus is quite melancholy and so is the music. I am a sucker for melancholy. My 2nd favorite is Too Many Dicks. It took me forever to decipher all the lyrics, and they're hysterical, but to quote many a American B...

Re: April 11 Fox Theater Atlanta

Well, I used a different word, but it still wasn't a nice one. And when I said I wouldn't brook being pushed around, I didn't mean that I would have responded in kind. Sorry if I gave that impression, because two wrongs definitely don't make a right.

Re: April 11 Fox Theater Atlanta

dtree, Oh wow, now I wish I'd stayed behind, and I wish you and I had been together, because I am definitely not shy and would not have brooked being pushed around and elbowed. I wouldn't have spoken up for myself, but would have had no trouble letting Jemaine know that you'd driven 7 hours to see t...

These are two wonderful accounts, girl and Jules! Welcome, girl_with_bangs. Enjoy! Jules, did you do your charity event-shearing? If so, how did it go? Did either of you meet the guys afterward? I heard chickenkarma sent a friend in Atlanta one of her dolls for Kristen, who loved it! :yay: I...

Re: April 11 Fox Theater Atlanta

I'm here! I was there! It was great! We had dinner at The Varsity (best greasy food in Atlanta) and then went straight to the show. The camera policy is quite simply a no-camera policy, posted on the tickets, posted at the venue, and announced over the PA. I didn't bring a camera, but obviously some...

I don't know how the credits will be, but in that article, Jemaine got a mention before Julie Andrews. Wow.

Re: HBO Flight of the Conchords Show - Season Two- Ep 10

I thought this was a good ending. I think it's still possible, though very unlikely, that there will be a third season. This episode was definitely a series ender, but they could get new visas and try the U.S. again. But gosh, they were so cute in NZ with their shorts and wellies on, tossing sheep a...

Re: Poor audio mix?

Thanks for the HD tip. I'll monkey around with it tonight and watch an old episode that I remember having a problem hearing the vocals over the music. I have Comcast cable, and someone upthread said they have Cox, so it must not be specific to cable provider. Of course, I had the same t.v. last seas...

Re: HBO Flight of the Conchords Show - Season Two - Ep 8

Maybe not a wink. More like a Gotcha. That song is too long even for the closing credits and wouldn't be easily truncated to fit. I liked the PM last week, this week, his bit seemed a little stale. I was expecting more from NZTown, but maybe that was the point. It was a letdown even though I had rat...

Re: Art talks Garfunkling and more

I wonder if my significant other would be up for "Clementing" ?? I love Art's music, but I won't be trying any "Garfunkeling" any time soon.
