I would have liked just the Wellington sign too. Or KIA ORA (hi there, or more literally be well) or KIA KAHA, (be strong) regarding all the visitors for the RWC this fall. There is a banner KIA KAHA ALL-BLACKS, I know its too many letters, but hey, its home turf.

...and it would be difficult to prove unfair trading because it was unlikely people would accidentally visit Wellington thinking it was Hollywood.

:rolls: :thumb: I'm picturing some poor tourists arriving in Wellington and peering doubtfully at their Hollywood guide book, lol. "Remember last year when we accidentally visited Bollywood? Well Martha I think we made another mistake." :sosad:

Never underestimate the stupidity of some tourists (and/or ticket sellers). I remember a few years back there was a story in the paper about an tourist who had turned up here in Auckland deeply confused... Apparently he had actually wanted to go to 'Oakland' (California) but the ticket seller misunderstood his accent. WHA??!!! Did he not notice the ticket price was a little steep? Did he not know how to spell Oakland when he looked at his ticket? Did he not hear any of the boarding announcements saying "Oakland" (Auckland) NEW ZEALAND? Did he not notice he was at the INTERNATIONAL terminal? Needless to say he just had to turn around and fly right back out as he (not surprisingly) didn't have a visa or even a passport!

:rolls: WOW. That's a lot to ignore. Well, they did say it was "unlikely" to occur, lol. Though not impossible, apparently.

There was a similar story about an unaccompanied minor on his way to Oakland who was put on a plane to - you guessed it - Auckland. How so many airport personnel could be asleep on the job and not notice the mistake is beyond me.

Taika also thinks it's dumb. As do I. It's such a gorgeous hillside, why would you mess it up?

That's great for the guys (hmmm, Bret's more trusted than Jemaine, huh? :hrm: ), but where's Taika? :dunno:

Haha, I wonder why Bret is considered to be slightly more trustworthy? ;) Love how they've shot up the list because last year Bret and Jemaine were 55 and 53 respectively. I see Rhys is number 32.

I like the pic of Bret they've used in the stuff.co.nz article:

Caption: WHO DO YOU TRUST?: Politician Hone Harawira, left, and Conchord Bret McKenzie

Has anyone got the full sized pic of that photo of Bret?

:rolls: I wonder what criteria they used to judge someone's trustworthiness, lol.
