Wow...thread resurrection!

Anyway, my favourite comedians are:

Stephen Colbert/Amy Sedaris/Paul Dinello (Seriously, check out the show "Strangers With Candy"...politically incorrect brilliance!)
David Cross (ahhh, a fellow angry atheist :) )
Jon Stewart
The Kids in the Hall (one of the reasons I'm proud to be Canadian)
Bill Hicks

Ahem, did you seem my avatar/signature? I love Strangers with Candy.

David Cross is great too, Tobias from AD is my favorite thing he's ever done.

I grew up watching Kids in the Hall "I'm crushing your head" ah, that was my favorite thing ever.

Wow....I think you and I are gonna get along GREAT! ("Cancer? That's hiLArious" 8) )

Edit: Have you ever heard of Exit 57? It's a sketch comedy show that Stephen, Amy and Paul were all in in the mid-90s. It's really bizarre. Here's some classics (including the infamous "Down in the Basement" sketch that drives fans of Stephen and Paul absolutely insane!)

Dancing Muchachos (Yes, that is Stephen singing):

Down in the Basement (The ending is totally worth it):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ_ua6S92Kw

Enjoy! :D

Yeah, I've seen those many a time. :) None of my friends find "Down in the Basement" very funny, they don't get it. It takes specific type of people to be fans of that type of humor I guess. It's like the same type of people that don't like SWC do not like anything Amy does, but they seem to like the Colbert report and the like. Hmm.

P.S. Paul Dinello - What a good looking man.

I saw Nick Swardson do stand up today! It was amazing, and usually [so I've read] he sticks around after the shows to meet with fans etc. My friends and I waited outside for like 35-40 minutes after the show [There really is no back door because it's connected to another building] so I'm not sure where he could have gone out of. But none-the-less we were the only ones left waiting so we just left. Regardless of not meeting him, it was fantastic.

Can't claim the same Canadian pride, unfortunately, but I do lurve them an awful lot. (See my handle for evidence.)

No one's mentioned Simon Pegg yet? True, he's much more than a comedian these days but he is best known for comedy. And I have it on good authority that he's a massive Conchords fan. Trufakt. ;)

Love Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

For stand-up guys, it either has to be Brian Regan or Jeremy Hotz.

Speaking of Simon Pegg, I went to see Run Fatboy Run. Good, silly fun :D

I also recommend Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I went to a sneak preview of this film about a month ago and the whole theater was in hysterics. Jason Segel rules  . And Russell Brand was playing himself, I think :P  .

I think my favorite stand-up comedians would have to be Mitch Hedberg (:() and Demetri Martin. Both brilliantly funny.
