I had to bite the bullet and get a new car; my old one was 10 years of age and had 131,000 miles on it. And in the past month cost a chunk of change needing a new radiator, water pump and windshield. Next in need were brakes. That's when I said "I'm out!"
The past two weeks have been way too many visits for my preference to used car dealerships (okay, one is one too many for me
) and while I have been coveting a mini cooper for some time now it was not in the budget. So I came home with a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit hatchback, manual transmission, and all kinds of neat little details like the round "VW" symbol on the trunk being the handle to open it! Can you tell I have never had a VW before?
So, the pleasure of having a reliable car is starting to outweigh the anxiety of taking on monthly payments again. Just a little.
