But going on holiday is very cheering! Off to Wellington for some light stalking, I assume?

Can't wait for uke to arrive - work crap, eating too many KitKats and need something to cheer me up.

Weekend of Russian, Uke-playing, wine and eating keenly anticipated :D

Ukulele playing is going so well:) Je suis tres happy :D Working on Space Oddity (Bowie) and Redemption Song (Marley)

I'm currently on holiday and the internet connection is not very good, but I'm able to pop in here once in a while anyway:) The weather in the south of Norway is fabulous and I spend most of my time sitting on some beach playing the uke, while the kids play in the sea. I'm also trying to work on some songs of my own. The sun is frying my head leaving me with delusions of grandeur

Hope the rest of you are having a great summer as well 8)

Sounds perfect! Enjoy your holiday, Biscuit 8)
Per diem means 'for the day', though... Per weekem would be the correct term.

I am very slowly working on getting a private pilots license and eventually an aviation degree :) I have been taking classes in my spare time as my budget permits 8)

BTW make sure you take your sunscreen ! That sounds like the best way to spend the summer.

Wow, DM! That sounds awsome! I'm terrified of flying, but I've always thought that I might be ok if I flew myself. The feeling of terror very much stems from the fact that I hate not being in control  On the other hand I'm scared of heights as well so....

Good luck with achieving your goal!!

And btw SPF20 goes with me everywhere  Even though it doesn't get awfully hot up here, the sun can really burn you :P

Had another idea for a PhD proposal today, so I'm bringing back this one from the brink of death

I saw this studentship on a project cencerning the use of history, which really fascinates me, but I need a B average to even be considered, and my average is much closer to C

Anyhoop; I started writing a project outline for a study of the use of history at "Norwegian" heritage attractions in North America (or maybe Aus/NZ, depending on who I'm talking to  )

I'm just not sure how to move forward with this. I could try and apply for the studentship without having the B average. This will if nothing else give me some practice in writing proposals. Or I could try to write an article and get it published, thus after what I have been told, earning the right to get a studentship no matter what my MA grade average is.

I thought I would hate writing forever after finishing my thesis, but it did feel really good to sit down and write something today :D

Go Biscuit!

http://www.port.ac.uk/departments/facul ... Bursaries/

considering this, but Portsmouth is a crap uni, and I lack the time to put a decent proposal together....unless I really get a move on with it :D
On other hand, I might prefer to wait until I can apply somewhere I actually want to go...
