Just a random update: I started reading Book #1 last night. I'm about half way through and now I'm really curious about Snape because of what happened when he and Harry Potter first met eyes.

But don't tell me!

That's all.

You'll be back and forth regarding Snape until the end of Book 7......unless you draw a firm conclusion and stick to it, like me! ;) The Snape- Good or Evil debate raged....they even made bookmarks thru Borders. I'd post pics but they list reasons as to why he's a Friend or a Foe on the bookmark, and I don't want to spoil the books for you. Enjoy! I'm envious of you reading them for the first time. :)

I started reading them back in 2001, I believe. The craze had hit my elementary school and I had to read The Philosopher's Stone right away. Then I got the rest of the books.
I want to buy The Half-Blood Prince book.
I still have my copy of The Goblet of Fire, in my basement. :)

And Luna, she's excellent :)

Yeah, with the others it was like a roller coaster- I wanted to go out and then come right back in and see it again!

Not so with this one.....I'll buy it, for sure, and I bet I'll see it again at the theater but I feel more like this was the movie that took us from OotP to DH....a means to an end, I guess...and I guess I'm being too picky about the changes they made/things they left out/what they put in. It wasn't the movie I'd hoped it would be.
I LOVED the book!

I didn't like the difference between how Harry viewed things from the top of the Tower in the movie and how he did in the book. Book was better. IMO.

I've always felt they sacrificed meaningful conversations between characters- most notably between Harry and Dumbledore- for more superfluous scenes. I'd hoped that might change as we got near the end and things become more serious......

I know I'm being a whiny-baby......I'll shut up now.

Yes, for sure. I wasn't upset when Dumbledore died in the film, because there wasn't a huge connection (on screen) between him & Harry. Whereas their conversations in the book had more depth and meaning.
