You know I thought the same thing when I first heard it, but I'll tell you nobody ever pronounces it that way. It's very specifically "Ale - eight - one", lol. :dunno:

The only time I got Ginger Ale was when I had a tummy ache as a kid so I now associate it with tummy aches & it holds no allure.

Flat ginger ale is one of the few soft drinks/sodas I like. I can't tolerate carbonated drinks.

I think it's OK for a call center agent to have an accent, as long as the customer still understand what you're saying. Sometimes, even with training, it's hard to remove an accent, so the best you can do is to pronounce the words well.
