What was your favourite toy / game growing up?

Everything else you can poke a stick at. And then some.

My sis and I had a Fisher Price tape recorder.

We made a tape of ourselves saying 'rude words'!
It's a psychological analogy

:D
I wasted countless hours of my life with this toy, and my collection of Pokemon games.
I was a total 90s kid, ha. I got sucked into the Pokemon craze. :S It was worth it, though, and worth the purchase of dozens of batteries.
I also bought tons of stuffed Pokemon toys, and cards... XD

I still play Pokemon, but on a different system. I'm a loser, what can I say?

:roll2: I used to play with a tape recorder and make up fake radio shows. Like, "This is KTC News! Today there was a huge storm in your butt!"

I'm trying to remember the words to one of the clapping games we used to play. It was all about Miss Suzy and narrowly avoiding bad words. Some of the words were:

the **** went to heaven Miss Suzy went to
Hello operator, please give me number nine
And if you disconnect me, I'll kick in the
behind the 'frigerator there was was a piece of glass
Miss Suzy sat upon it and broke her little
ask me no more questions, I tell you no more lies

the flies are in the city the bees are in the park
Miss Suzy and her boyfriend are kissing in the
D-A-R-K, D-A-R-K, DARK, DARK, DARK

I don't remember the rest of the words

Oooh! I wanted that gameboy as a kid Ozpot! And a purple one too? sweeet! hehe

I never once played a clapping game. I do remember seeing some girls doing that once. I mostly hung out with boys at school, so no clapping games. I had a friend for a while that wanted to be a rooster and with me wanting to be a dog...we sort of understood each other. We were both the school outcasts. It's much better when there is two of you! lol Once our phases of animal longing past we both got really into dinosaurs, started digging up the playground looking for bones.

"Hey Ya'll, I'm destroying your city!" And the Bret and Jemaine angels looked on in approval.

What about those thing-y's that you folded into something that looked practically like orgami and you wrote something in each square then you put them over your fingers and moved your fingers around to open to a saying or dare or something. What the heck were those called? We used to play that for hours on end?
They called 'em "cootie-catchers" (but I preferred calling them "fortune-tellers"). I had a book full of those...they were fun.

And with the clapping games, I remember we had one really weird rhyme that was popular when I was in the fifth grade. It went like this:

I pledge allegiance to the flag, (whispered) Michael Jackson is a (censored).
Coca-Cola burned him up, now he's drinking 7-Up.
7-Up turned him green, now he's drinking gasoline.
Gasoline makes him moo, now he's drinking Mountain Dew.
Mountain Dew fell off the mountain, now he's drinking from a fountain.
Finally the fountain broke, now he's back to drinking Coke!

I have no idea who made that one up. Kids will be kids, though...
If you don't know the answer, change the question.

Wow, I have not done "Miss Suzy" since forever! I remember that one and "engine, engine number 9 going down Chicago line, if the train falls off the track do you want your money back? [other responds yes or no, for the purposes of this thread, let's say "yes."] y-e-s. Bubblegum, bubblegum on a dish, how many pieces do you wish? [other person says a number and that is spelled] t-h-r-e-e" However, I cannot recall the clapping that went with this.

You know, the Howlers in Harry Potter totally remind me of those fortune tellers!

Anyone ever have a Big Wheel? I was so jealous of the one my brother had!

Oh, and an Easy Bake oven! I recently asked my mom if the reason I did not get one was because of safety concerns with the light bulb. Her response was "No, I didn't want to have to eat whatever was cooked by the light bulb." Can you feel the warm fuzzies, folks?

I came thisclose to purchasing a Snoopy SnoCone maker that I saw at a re-sale shop about a month ago. I still kinda want it!

Similar kinda thing (bit ruder though)

Mary had a little lamb; she also had a duck
She took it 'round the corner, taught it how to
Fry some eggs for breakfast, fry some eggs for tea
The more you eat, the more you drink, the more you wanna
Peter had a boat, the boat began to rock
Up jumped Jaws and bit off his
Cocktails, ginger ales, forty cents a glass
If you don't like it, shove it up your
Ask no questions, tell no lies
I saw the bogey man doing up his
Flies are bad; mosquitoes are worse
And this is the end of my silly little verse!

UGH the Mash, UGH the cootie catchers...and when I say UGH it's in a completely "holy crap that takes me back" manner.

And OUR version of Miss Suzy ended with:
Ask me no more questions, please tell me no more lies
Miss Suzie told me all about the day before she
Died her hair in purple, she died her hair in pink
She died her hair in polka dots and washed it down the sink
YOU STINK

Another popular one was

My name is Peppermint Patty
I come from Cincinnati
With a pickle up my nose and 48 toes and this is how my story goes
One day while I was walking, I saw my boyfriend talking
To a pretty little girl with strawberry curls and this is what he said to her
"I L-O-V-E love you, I'll K-I-S-S kiss you
I'll P-A-R-K, D-A-R-K, park in the dark with you - WOO WOO!"
