Hehe, love that song.

Homer: Son, a woman is a lot like a... [looks around] a refrigerator! They're about six feet tall, 300 pounds. They make ice and, um... [spots his can of Duff] Oh, wait a minute. Actually, a woman is more like a beer. They smell good, they look good and you'd step over your own mother just to get one! [downs the beer] But you can't stop at one. You wanna drink another woman!

Shary Bobbins best Simpsons one shot character ever.

 I'm going to sing "Cut Every Corner" all day now.
"Garfunkling" is not a trend... it's a way of life.

Yes, she was.

*sings*

If... you... cut every corner
It is really not so bad,
Everybody does it,
Even mom and dad.
If nobody sees it,
Then nobody gets mad,
It's the American way!

Grandpa: "When you're my age, death haunts you at every turn...." (turns and points in alarm) "DEATH!"
Lisa: "That's just Maggie!"
Grandpa: "Oh... DEATH!"
Lisa: "That's the dog."
Grandpa: "DEAAAAATH!!"
Lisa: "That's Maggie again!"

Bart: Dad, I think I need some fresh air. Can I go to the park?
Homer: Do I have to sit up?
Bart: No.
Homer: Knock yourself out.

Homer Simpson: Books are useless! I only ever read one book, "To Kill A Mockingbird" and it gave me absolutely no insight on how to kill mockingbirds! Sure it taught me not to judge a man by the colour of his skin... but what good does *that* do me?

PBS Pledge Drive Host: It's easy to see why it's England's most long-running series - and we're showing all of them, all 7 episodes.

Mr. Burns: "Ahhh, sitting. The great leveler."

"Out of my way! I'm a motorist!"

"Give him.... THE PLAGUE."
Smithers: "Ahem...don't you mean 'the plaque', Sir?"
"Ah, yes... the plaque."

Hee hee! I had the most enjoyable Simpsons quote swap in the car with hubby the other day because of this thread, lol. The kids were in the back seat going "What are you crazy grown-ups talking about?"

Mock, you saying 'Simpsons' and 'car' in the same sentence reminded me of this.

Homer: So, I realized that being with my family is more important than being cool.
Bart: Dad, what you just said was powerfully uncool.
Homer: You know what the song says: "It's hip to be square".
Lisa: That song is so lame.
Homer: So lame that it's... cool?
Bart & Lisa: No.
Marge: Am I cool, kids?
Bart & Lisa: No.
Marge: Good. I'm glad. And that's what makes me cool, not caring, right?
Bart & Lisa: No.
Marge: Well, how the hell do you be cool? I feel like we've tried everything here.
Homer: Wait, Marge. Maybe if you're truly cool, you don't need to be told you're cool.
Bart: Well, sure you do.
Lisa: How else would you know?

Hee hee! That was a funny one.

Remember the chase scene, when Officer Wiggum puts on his "chase music"? "Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows, everything that's wonderful appears whenever we're together...." I had that song stuck in my head the other day, lol.

I loved, loved, loved when REM guested. Homer opened a bar in his garage to rival Moe's and invited REM to play, saying it was some environmental fundraiser. Upon hearing Homer boast that he lied to REM to get them to play there, Michael Stipe angrily breaks a bottle and lunges at Homer. Mike Mills stops Stipe at the last moment, puts his hand on his shoulder, and yells, "Michael, no! That's not the REM way!" Michael gets his senses together, backs down and says, "You're right. Let's recycle these glass shards and get out of here." He sweeps up the broken bottle and they leave.

Awesome. Just awesome.

Hee hee! I forgot about that one. REM is so awesome. I loved it when they were on Sesame Street, too. :thumb:

"Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins."
"Homer Simpson, smiling politely."

Teehee

Homer: When I held that gun in my hand, I felt a surge of power…like God must feel when he’s holding a gun.

Homer: How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?

Homer: Facts are meaningless. You could use facts to prove anything that’s even remotely true!

Homer: Fame was like a drug. But what was even more like a drug were the drugs.

Oh the B-Sharps   .
