The Commitments!!! :yay:
Excellent film group. The blonde lead singer was only a babe when that was filmed - I think he actually was only 16 or 17, sounding years more mature. Mustang Sally - so well done!

Phish Takho is from My Name is Earl, but I don't remember the rest of the storyline. I just remember that a homeless guy was part of the group, somehow becoming part of Earl's entourage.

Did nobody name where Spinal Tap is from? Probably because it's so obvious but since I'm light on answers I'll take this one! It's from "This is Spinal Tap" of course. The only songs I remember from that movie are Stonehenge and Flower People. Clearly I need to watch this movie again. ;) Speaking of which, I think the New Main Street Singers are from that other Christopher Guest mock music documentary... about the folk bands? What the heck was that movie called? All I can think of is "Break Like the Wind" but I think that's also from Spinal Tap. :hrm: I guess I could Google it but I feel like that would be cheating. ;)

Sorry, I missed this a week ago. :? As far as I know they just have one album, appropriately called "Tenacious D". They might have more though. :dunno: Some of the songs are very funny, like the one where Jack sings about beating up Kyle, and Tribute, etc. I grew up on Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc so I love the way they parody those types of bands. It does kind of drag in places though. It's a really long album. The banter is pretty funny though.

It was called "A Mighty Wind". And I didn't even have to google it for once. :)

Yup, it was, Faith. One of the "Singers" was Jane Lynch from Glee.

Sometimes I look at the stats at the bottom of the home page because I am a geek. Anyway I noticed today that we have 999 members. Who will be the 1000th member? Can we somehow arrange for confetti to spew from their computer when they join?

One evening an man told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"

The grandfather simply replied, "The one you feed."

My supervisor just emailed this to everyone in our office.
