If you have an American Express card, this offer may be good news for you - I can't believe they're talking about tickets for Book Of Mormon way into fall of 2012!

I saved my pennies and saw Stephen Sondheim's Company this week for $18. It's also playing tonight (Tuesday) and I think a few more times at select theaters across the country.
Neil Patrick Harris stars, and he is terrific. Stephen Colbert and Jon Cryer also star and definitely do the material justice. January Jones is hysterical. And although I'm not a big Patti LuPone fan, she won me over with her performance.
It's filmed from a live performance they did with the NY Philharmonic. There's just enough suggestion of sets and 70s costumes to set the proper tone for the show, but the staging is pretty full out, as is the cute choreography. I only wish the volume had been a smidge louder for that "movie sound" experience, but it could have been the venue.
It's a very good production of a Broadway classic. I'd recommend it

Oh yay! I am glad you went and enjoyed it. I am hearing only great things about it!
In August when I am back East, I am planning on seeing something, that would be first choice then SpiderMan.

I'm thinking of Spider Man as well.... :hrm:

Let me know when you are going to be East Coasting it Jo. The WTF NYC chapter is itching for a reason to meet up in August.

Oh, SW, I'm so glad you liked it! It has our quirky sense of humor, doesn't it? But it also has heart, which I loved. (how many times did you go Awww for Josh?) It's nice to know that even the irreverent Trey and Matt can write with heart. And weren't Josh and Andrew terrific? And Nikki? She was so cute. I'm so glad I bought the cd - now I'm jolly all the time in the car. Did you speak to Josh afterwards? Wait, it's light out - did you see the matinee? Ack, so many questions, answer the ones you like.

Ryche, I just went online for the heck of it to see how tickets for Mormon were selling - the first single ticket I got available was an obstructed view orchestra seat in August, so you'd better get tickets now. Upstairs in the Mezzanine is a great view of the action, I'd recommend it.

It is a very South Park sense of humor so if you like that you'll like this. The hell dream sequence might just be my fave & it was the the most South Park thing in the whole play. The entire cast was fantastic. According to the Playbill one of the actors who played a Ugandan was in Flight of the Conchords but he didn't look familiar :hrm:

Nikki is from my neck of the woods. Her voice is amazing.

Yup matinee. Nope didn't talk to anyone. I was just walking by and saw the leads come out so I played played paparazzi for a few minutes.

Besides Josh, Amy's friend Scott was one of the Mormons - he was the short blonde who sang the second verse in Turn It Off about his "sister was a dancer, but she got"..... :silence:  He is so perfectly cast and is having a blast. And what a singer/dancer! :thumb:

I couldn't place Michael Potts in FoTC, either. But then, it could have been a part with very short camera time and no lines. :dunno:
I thought you'd like Spooky Mormon Hell Dream! :snakeman: It reminded me of the fights on South Park between Jesus and Lucifer. And of course, Hasa Diga Eebowai! :nana:
Did you notice the swing (the guy who covers all the male chorus parts) was Nick Spangler, the winner of The Amazing Race?

Michael Potts was Nigel Saladu. http://youtu.be/sCG-5fluNPo

 Boy, he sure looks younger onstage, without the gray beard! I never would have thought that Hatimbi was Nigel. Thanks for finding that, Faith. :D

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh  thanks Faith. That clip is hysterical but it's missing my favorite part - when Murray asks Bret is Jemaine is a male prostitute & Bret looks confused and says I think so. :roll2:

Yes Nancy I remember Scott. He was great. The whole cast was great. I wish there was video of Spooky Mormon Hell Dream around.

I loved that part too, watching the video, I got kinda sad...they need to do some sort of something, for goodness sake!!! I don't care what, tour, return for special on HBO,(along with Murray) just something. :(

Like Vanessa tweeted, "Its been one year since FOTC has tweeted"

It was only a few months after their last tour that Jemaine began his year long period of being indebted to MIB3 and it is only now that he is free from it so I feel like they will make time for something new from FOTC next year.

Did they ever tweet much? I can barely remember and what I do recall I thought didn't exactly sound like FOTC's voice.
