Just noticed this thread, better late than never.....

My daughter and I are totally into Gogol Bordello lately. This my favorite song. http://www.gogolbordello.com/chronicles/video/notacrime/. Got my tickets to see them at Mr Toads in Oct. Can't wait!!!!!!

There is no NZ connection, but this band represents most of the rest of the world.

The lead singer/lyricist, Eugene Hutz, is a terrific actor as well. Check him out playing Alex in Everything Is Illuminated.
Elijah (Frodo) Wood stars.

The boy's band, Colonel Mustard, played their last ever gig last night. I'm still sore from it. And my ear is kinda blocked and ringing still. Check out this awesome photo I feel very proud to have taken.

Loving a new tune from Nada Surf ; their new record is out next year. In the meantime, 1 new song is available to listen to on MySpace

"See These Bones"

Also enjoying a few new tunes from an Austin TX band called Crawling With Kings. The drummer and keyboard player are friends of mine.

And those 2 guys have a musical project called The Ashes. Feel free to download their record (yes, the singer said it's OK to share it) :

Got tickets to go see Tori Amos in Vancouver on December 3rd.....sooooo excited! This is my first Tori concert. If anyone doesn't know who I'm talking about, you should check her out, she's brilliant!

She screws up and makes an adorable recovery here:

She does an amazing performance on Letterman (not to mention looks GORGEOUS) here:

She does a duet with Maynard (lead singer of Tool and A Perfect Circle...whom I also love) here:

Lucky girl! Tori Amos' music got me through college. Love her music and listened to her regularly when I felt melancholy.

Thanks for the links. :D

For some odd reason I had not listened to her in years. I got on youtube and watched her stuff for an hour. My husband said that the longer I watched the more he could see my mood change. That is what I love about her music. She just speaks to my soul. Got me through lots of hard times. Thanks again. Now I just might listen to something else besides FotC...maybe not.

I saw her years ago and it was a pretty good show in a fairly small venue. Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink are the only two I've ever really gotten into, but those two have some songs that I truly love.
