I didn't see a topic regarding Stu. Hope I didn't miss it.

So I saw a few interviews with Stu and was very curious about his accent. It sounds different than the other Kiwi accents I've heard. I don't know maybe it's just me? I studied Anthropology and have an interest in Linguistics so my curiosity was piqued when I heard him talk. Not only does his accent seem different to me, but I also noticed he says "like" quite a bit. It reminds me of the way many of us American's use the word. :hrm:

If anyone knows anything or even noticed what I'm talking about let me know.

This interview is where he talks the most.

Ooh, a Stu appreciation thread! A Stu thread hadn't been created before this one so thanks for starting one, Diah. :thumb:

He sounds pretty Kiwi to me. :hrm: Maybe slightly more nasally?

Stu has become one of the breakout stars of the film. I mean, just listen to all the cheers and people calling out "Stu" at the TIFF Canadian premiere from 6m40s:

He's also being mobbed by fans. ;)

Yay, Stu. :D

My daughter thought his accent was different too. Maybe it just is nasally.

He needs an update on his IMBD. Not much info. Although he's probably content to keep it that way.

I did notice the cheers for Stu. He must be good in WWDITS. I can't wait to see it!

Yes, it will all become clear why he's popular when you see the film. Hopefully it won't take too long for you to finally watch it. It's cool he has some minor links to Boy and Eagle vs Shark according to IMDB. :)

 He does sound very Kiwi to me. Although it's pretty cool that he has spent some time in Japan and has conducted interviews in Japanese for the film's release over there.

On Twitter one of our followers made a reference to "If You're Into It" with Stu R and I realised that Bret & Jemaine probably did have this Stu in mind for the song as Stu was living with Taika during their uni days. And today I came across this interview (from 06:35) in which the interviewer asks whether Jemaine was referring to Stu R.

I've tweeted Stu a few times and he's tweeted back and favorited. He seems like a nice guy. Maybe secretly inside I was yelling " Not Stu!" like the people at the theaters were I saw WWDITS. :hrm:
