The NZ government gun bit

Murray's phone call to the White House regarding the PM of New Zealand "it is a country!"

Jemaine on Scarborough Fair - a shopping list of herbs :rolls:

"Don't sing, don't talk"

Oh yes Jemaine in the leather

Demon Woman lyrics - "turn my bone into stone", and Bret's wicked high notes!

Mel's puke-like face when Jemaine confides in her about dressing up like Art G and having sex

I blinked for a second, and all of a sudden Bret was singing a karaoke song - huh???? :puzzled: What'd I miss??? I mean, it was well done, but why?

Bret volunteering six croutons

The real Art Garfunkel showing up - :thumb:

Doug(as Bret) and Mel!

Nancy, you've got an excellent recall of all the highlights on this episode!

This episode was so uncomfortably odd it made a perfect fit for Bret and Jemaine. Compared to her lackluster use last week, I think Mel worked perfectly into this episode. I didn't realize until the 2nd viewing that she was holding up the paper that said CRAZY outside the restaurant window. Loved the prime minister's use of a 1980's Motorola Brick phone.

I wonder next month when they are on tour, if there will be many drunken shout outs for Bret to sing "Oh yeah, dance happy, yeah." That bit was the most random scene, ever! Now I can't get that tune out of my head

As a Co-Philadelphian, did you notice the SEPTA train in the video being played in the background?

first thoughts were that it was pretty good. demon woman is up there with hurt feelings and carol brown on the best song scale, mel was really good this week, and murray accusing greg of lurking. hahaha, why has murray suddenly started hating greg this season. its brilliant. bret singing japanese kareoke was good, but im abit peaved theyve passed that off as the 2nd song in the episode, theyre shouldve been a 3rd song. i suppose im just a greedy guts...

OH! Another giant inside joke - on that Radio New Zealand "play your favorite records show" Jemaine did last year, "Bright Eyes" was one of the songs he played because Watership Down was the first movie he ever went to see. (jeez...a baby compared to me).

I need to watch it again before going too far deep into it, but this episode was AWESOME.

And dandy, I think your right about Brain being Jarrod's dad. Good eye!

Also, for those who might think Bret and Jemaine dressing as Simon and Garfunkel is a bit weird should check this out:

I did!!! How random was that?! I squealed in delight! And then proceeded to take that train (or one similar anyway) in to work this morning. I figured, if Bret can stand in front of one, that's endorsement enough for me... :thumb:

Once again, I found this a hilarious episode with subpar songs.
Although I did chuckle at the crazy arbitrary karaoke. It was a lot like Kristen Schaal's "Kristen Schaal is a horse" bit. So weird you just have to laugh.

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :eh: :eh: :eh:    :what: :what: :what: :que: :que:

WTF? That was completely bizarre & unexpected. I think I love it.

This will require many more viewings with my full attention (I left the room a few times coz it was getting too weird in there = kareoke Bret ?? :puzzled: :dunno: ). 3 things stand out at the moment:

1. Brian Sergent is amazing.

2.Demon Woman  is as glorious as I had imagined it to be. It's definitely in my top 3 ....songs of S2. I can't make out exactly what video genre they are doing, The Cramps and The Damned came to mind a bit but I dunno....

3. I thought Jemaine looked foxy in the wig. :doomed: :sofa:

My current urge is to cap the crap out of the Jemaine as Garfunkel scenes but seeing as I haven't yet received my special delivery :waiting: all I have is the Demon Woman clip on YouTube and caps can't do it justice coz you've got to see the whole body shimmy in action. Strange as it may seem I don't find Jemaine viry sixy in it.

I posted this video with the lyrics too:

Demon Woman sounds a bit Doors-ish to me...

Regarding the karaoke, Bret was singing in Korean, not Japanese.
“We tell you lies, and if you laugh, they’re jokes.”

"all I wanted to say is "May I rock you ?"
