So I saw that there was a thread for Sutton being in Young Frankenstein, and I figured that I'd start this one with her current project. I am a HUGE broadway buff, and I am an acting major in NYC. Young Frank has long since closed, and Sutton moved on to Shrek.
I was able to go to the opening night on Broadway of the show, and I absolutely loved it. If you're worried about it being possibly fluff, or too campy, fear not, as it's great. Catchy score, great performances.. it's a very nice show. Go see it if you have the cash to spend.
Also, for those of you living in NYC, you can get student rush tickets if you have a valid student ID for about $35.00 or so. The price may actually be around 40 now, not sure, but it beats paying $110.00, that's for sure. For those of you who don't know this, many shows offer student rush tickets, and they are available the day of the performance at the box office before the show. Also, there is a thing called TKTS in Times Square and the Seaport down in Lower Manhattan where you can buy tickets for the show that day at a discounted price. They usually sell great tickets (sometimes even front row, and you usually always get orchestra, depending on what seats they have sold), for around $60.00. That's an alternative if you don't have a student ID. Furthermore, a lot of shows have a lotto that you can enter that morning, or a few hours before curtain, and if your name gets called then you usually get front row seats for $25.00. That's how I was able to attend the opening night on Broadway. Also, www.broadwaybox.com
usually has a lot of discount codes you can use to get great cheap tickets.
So check it out if you get the chance! There are quite a few ticket options for you to choose from, and it's totally worth the money! Support broadway so that I can have a job in a few years, okay?
