Well, you're definitely living in the right place with interests like margaritas and live music. I miss Austin.

Yip... I've lived here for over 6 years, and I love it. I see you live in Houston. I lived there before I moved here, while in undergrad. Houston gets a bad rap, but I really liked it. I miss the restaurants and the art scene. Those are two areas where Houston has Austin beat.

Yeah, Houston's all right. But I've grown up around here, so to me it's not that great. I lived in Austin for a couple of years and loved it there. But somehow I always end up back here. I'll make it back to Austin someday. You know, there are more people from Texas here than I realized.

Welcome Daniela! It's interesting how well represented Texas is on this board. I've never been there before (except to change planes in the Dallas airport.) My husband was working in Houston from the beginning of February to the end of May, but is now back in the northeast. He said it was very hot down there (and from the news I guess it's incredibly hot now!)

Welcome Hlin! It's great to have a forum person from Iceland too! How cool is that? (no pun intended) I love the fact that we have people here from all over the world! :D

Thanks for the warm welcome, Corrine!
Yis... it's been 100+ degrees lately.
I've lived in tx all my life, so I'm used to it, but that doesn't stop me from whining about it. :)

It's not the heat, but the humidity that will kill you. And you're right it's been really hot down here lately, my car said it as 106 degrees today which is like 41 if you do your temps in Celsius. I don't think it actually was that hot, but it sure felt like it.

I can do that too! Have had to avoid looking at the card too closely, or I will know the number. Good, but dangerous skill,no?
