Me neither - we should be getting LOTS of write ups on these next few days of shows (NYC 1, NYC 2, and Tower Night)

There's a picture posted of him from earlier today when a fan ran into him on the street. IMHO he's looking MUCH better...but who knows, we'll find out in a little bit, hopefully!

I'm not much of a chatty person, but the show was good.

Only two complaints:
1. The sound was bad, for me. That might have been due to being way on the side in the first row. Just sounded very bassy and muddy.
2. I'm sure you'll hear more about this from anyone else who went, but the asshole who ran onto the stage in the middle of a song. Ugh. Fine, running on stage can be kinda funny. Sometimes. But it's blooming rude to do it in the middle of a song.

I picked up a poster. There's supposed to be a new one for tomorrow. And some t-shirts, and the magnets.

Hopefully the sound is better tomorrow. I won't be as close, but will be more towards the center aisle.

I missed them last year at Town Hall (but saw them at Comix and Blender Theater before they got huge), and they seem to be the same ole guys as they were back then. Nice to see. Highlight for me was them playing Freebird. I'm sure every band gets tired of hearing that. :D

Jemaine's wearing a Penelope- Princess of Pets t-shirt. 8) I hope for a similar pic, only I plan to not do anything weird with my mouth other than smile like a silly, happy girl!

Wow, Cuse......did security tackle that dude and drag him right off? What were Bret and Jemaine's reactions?

I'm sorry the sound was bad for you- maybe being more in front of it will be better at the next show.

Are they selling any of Kristen's stuff, btw? I'd like a Penelope shirt....:)

The guy jumped on the stage right where I was sitting. Scared the s*** outta me 'cause he hit it really loud--hope he hurt himself. :p The security guard in the pit didn't see him 'cause he was facing the other direction, so the guy had enough time to get right in front of the guys and make a stupid "Yeah!" pose and run off the stage. Think he got tackled offstage. The guys just kept playing and didn't mention what happened afterwards. Classy move on the guy's part.

T-shirt break down is:
Penelope shirt.
Blue with rainbow type Too many dicks shirt.
Brown on tan Band meeting tour shirt.
Aqua Hand drawn conchordsesque typeface shirt.
Black Xylophone (?) tour shirt.
Might be one more in there that I'm missing.

The crowd wasn't bad. Lots of "Play ___!" and some "I Love yous" but nothing terrible other than stage runner guy. But I was in a row that only had 2 seats, so wasn't really surrounded by a lot of people. Crowd did seem kinda tame though. Didn't sound like a lot of audience participation from the ladies for the Girlfriends of the Past backing vocals.

On the train headed home. No meet tonight. Kristen came out and talked to us and said that Bret wasn't feeling great yet and it was raining pretty hard so I don't blame them.

I didn't see stage guy tackled, but I did see 4 very large gentlemen escorting him away in those plastic hand cuff things... Jemaine carried on with eyebrow raise but Bret lost it and laughed the rest of the song. And yes Laura, they had a Penelope shirt for sale.

I didn't really notice any problem with the sound... but I was pretty much dead center in the hall...

Highlights: Bret in a pink shirt (looked really nice... he's got a good skin tone for pink. :thumb: ), Bret on drums, Jem on drums, NIGEL (he seriously stole the show for me), Radio City itself (the place is flipping GORGEOUS and they were able to do some really cool lighting things, which is really distracting when not medicated...), Freebird (!!! thanks random heckler. We were also threatened with the full 20 minute version if it kept up)

I didn't think the heckers were too bad tonight, but it could be that there just weren't any around me as J kept commenting on them. At one point the guys had the house lights turned on and stage lights off so we could do a show, but they quickly reversed that and commented that it was much more scary when they could see us.

And that's about all I've got for now... I'll upload my pics tomorrow and see what I've got. Looks like I got a couple halfway decent ones though.

Cuse- that sounds exactly like the seats my hubby and I have for the Detroit show! It's OR2 seats 207&208, far left, just the 2 seats. How close were you to them and could you see well? (Tho I know your venue is bigger...ours is a 5,100-something seater)

Thanks for the info! :)

You too, Sully......so sorry for no meet and greet. :( I hope Bret's getting better.....wish the weather was better.

The lighting switcheroo sounds funny...I could imagine that being scary, suddenly seeing that huge crowd!

Please stop heckling, hecklers!!

I fear it may only get worse once word starts to spread. Freebird may end up being added to the setlist in anticipation...

I could see fine. Good enough that they were the same size as they were in the overhead tvs hehe. But radio city does have an orchestra pit that they opened up for this show. So technically I wasn't first row.

That reminds me. Cameras didn't seem very frowned upon. I think you could probably sneak anything inside as long as you don't use the flash. The guys did mention the flashes, at which point a thousand flashes went off and I guess people got it out of their systems.

Remember, people. Pictures look much better if you don't use the flash. Set your camera to non-flash mode and stay really still.
