They have to get out there and support their fellow rappers, though.

At the Dallas show they said that they heard Snoop Dogg was in town and they wanted to go see him but their manager said they had to be at their own show. They seemed disappointed. Then they asked if they could bring us all, and they said there was too many of us.. :worry:

I don't recall talk of a M&G after the first show. Let me go check my emails.

Semantic perhaps but to my mind they did not do a M&G after the 2nd NYC show (I was there). The fact that a handful of people found them at the other door doesn't qualify. I'm considering a meet and greet one in which the guys willingly come out to meet the group of people they know are there waiting for them. In NYC some people got word of where they were & went there. FOTC are always nice enough to oblige but it was clear that they made a conscious effort to avoid the area where fans had gathered. Other people have run into them randomly before and after shows on occasion but those are not what I'm considering M&Gs.

Thanks for the corrected info on SLC.

Looking at that list makes me feel so very fortunate, and a little bit sick to my stomach at how close I came to not getting a M&G. I traded my Apr 28th ticket for Apr 29th.

What do you think accounts for all the time before they come out? I know that they have things to do, but do you think they wait for the crowd to shrink, or maybe vanish? Do they plan ahead of time for the M&G or is it spontaneous? Did most everyone get both Conchords? :hrm:

I think a lot of what takes them so long is that it takes a while to get offstage and round everything up and get organized and such before leaving the building. I know that whenever I give a concert, I don't end up getting out of the building for at least a half an hour after the show ends. Also, I think a lot of the time they have press stuff to deal with after shows, I think a lot of the interviews they did were done backstage after the shows. They probably do that sort of thing before coming out.

I dunno, all just guesses.

Do you mean as to why some M&Gs and not others? Jemaine answered that. As to how long it takes them I imagine it depends on what's going on backstage and how quickly they need to be on the road.

FYI last year, thought the tour was a month as opposed to 2 months, they did a M&G after every show with the exception of San Fran (where they went immediately to a bar afterwards)& the first LA show where it was just Bret and fans were told Jem's GF was in town which is why he took off.

Anyhoo, is the list done? I'll have to look. Can someone make a pie or flow chart of to make Murray proud? It seems that the first leg, the east coast leg, lucked out mostly until Bret got sick. The middle leg was sort of touch and go and the west coast leg was kinda fuggetaboutit - yup that's my scientific analysis of the data.

Technically, Vegas only got Jemaine. Bret came out for a few diehard stragglers maybe an hour after the M&G was over and everyone else had left.

Nonob I was at the April 28th Chicago show, no meet n greet for us that night. I later learned that they attended a party hosted by Subpop. I attended 6 shows total & got 1 meet n greet with Jemaine (briefly Arj too), no Bret-y. I feel viry viry fortunate to have gotten that one chance & it was a brief encounter because Jem was out there alone & trying to make sure that he got to everyone. It has given me lifelong memories. I still pinch myself, it was so exciting and boy do I ever feel lucky. I still daydream about it every single day.

37 nights of shows
19 M&Gs
18 no M&Gs
I guess it's safe to say the odds were about 50-50 that you'd meet them.

east coast 8 yes, 5 no (and 4 of those the reason given was that Bret was sick)
middle 5 yes, 6 no
west coast 5 yes, 6 no
