Ah! But now I know why Taika was cast!

Wow! Some filming appears to be taking place close to where I work! I had a feeling because I saw a usually empty parking lot full with people and a big truck that said "Hollywood Trucks" in it yesterday on the way home...Apparently they are filming in a studio close to Tchoupitoulas, and it's less than 5 miles from my job.

The pics are of Ryan Reynolds but i will keep checking to see if any of Taika surface--and keep my eyes peeled for an in person sighting

I've heard of grits but never seen or tasted them. The photo looked like a plate of throw up to me.

I go to this place that has cheese grits with jalapeno in them. It's like a Southern mushy polenta. mmmm mmmm mmm.

Aimee, that is pretty neat they are in your work area (hopefully they will keep all the trucks and crew parking out of you area ... trust me it is a HUGE pain if they do not) If you are feeling brave you should totally try and score free noms from their catering 8)

Oh and I wonder if he is liking the coffee in NOLA ( the kind with chickory  )

Ha ha! I know what you mean! When they were filming Kate Hudson's movie in our are last month the trucks would block one of the main streets we use to get to work. It really was a pain mostly because there were no cops or anyone to help out a little and direct traffic. It really can be a hassle...

Have you ever tasted chickory? I don't really care for it, but it would be a convo starter! Thanks for the advice on the noms!

I've only had the chicory coffee from Cafe du Monde. I didn't care for it or the beignet. But I loved everything else I ate & drank in New Orleans.

Yeah that's chickory. I had to load it with sugar and milk to get rid of the wierd bitter taste. The beignets are ok--just something to try to say you did it while in NOLA. This place is a food wonderland, so there are many better places to get a scrumptious dessert...

From an interview Venus posted over on the BOY thread
"In the comicbook my character is originally, like, Alaskan, but I think they threw that away when they couldn't find [an Inuit] to play it. I kind of look ethnic still, so maybe people will think he's not white and he's not black and he's not Hispanic, he must be an Eskimo,"
 Yeah I think that's kinda how Cliff Curtis got his start too! :D

Thanks for posting Kipples. Taika's role looks very much against type, the nerdy sidekick.

The Green Latern premiere will be held at Grauman's on June 15. It's also screening at LA Film Fest on Thursday, June 16 at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live.

If you're in town around those dates, let me know if you want to go on June 16.
