Husband would not like it I'm afraid. But if I win the lotto I'll do both

How is Helen doing? Playing much?

Yep - after the initial struggle to tune her (God, I sound like a really sleazy man!), we're getting on OK! Remember having to learn 'Ode To Joy' on recorder in school.

Hire lookalike. Or persude him that seeing you at the Proms far cooler than Coldplay...more culturally enriching pour les enfants....

Ha ha - Clement - ha ha. Slightly OT but this reminds me that in San Francisco I tried to get a photo of a street sign that simply said Clement. Sully & I passed that freakin' thing twice on the bus but do ya think I was able to get a shot of it? I really wanted one to post on the board coz I'm a geek like that. Ah well, carry on.

Congrats! And good luck with playing

Helen's going well - have house to myself for a few days, so have been getting down to some serious playing/wine drinking! :D

Hope McKenzie and Hayley get on OK!

I haven't been able to put Clement down! I found a great online tuner and tuned him up, then started playing any FOTC uke tab I could get my hand on. I've got Leggy Blonde down pat, getting there with I'm Not Crying and Bus Driver's Song.

I'm completely addicted. If my fingers weren't calloused raw right now, I'd still be playing

Clement is such a cool name for a uke... but how scary is this book title?

Haha, that is pretty scary!

So, the online tuner I was using, I think it was having me tune to high g, c-e-a. Is there an online tuner for tenor ukes that'll let me tune to low g, c-e-a?

Not sure...I've been using this one:

Think Helen's a soprano uke (or the 'Mum Uke' as Murray would have it!)

Good to hear that you and Helen are bonding :)

Don't tell Hayley, but I'm planning to ditch her once I've got my hands on McKenzie. Hayley's pretty but cheap  McKenzie is kind of cheap too, but even prettier 8)

Right now I'm cheating on Hayley with the uke formerly known as Miss January. She's now Miss June, so I just call her Junebug. I wish she was mine! She's class all the way

I haven't tried one single FOTC song yet. Still working on Bowie (proper Bowie, not the song)

Kel: My ukes are sopranos too and I tend to use whatever I find on youtube to tune them:P Hope you find a suitable tuner and that you're fingers get used to playing quickly

Uke infidelity...shocking!

They're kind of banned in the lounge (coolest room in house), so am making most of no boyfriend to rock out
Me neither - trying to get Ode to Joy ready for the proms..... :drinkers:

I couldn't find the right tutorials vids for people outside of the UK, so I still haven't had a go at 'Ode' :( I did plan to practice in case I actually did win the lotto :halo:

Become champion uke player and earn lots of money? :D

It's annoying that it won't play outside the UK - would this work?

I can read the tab and the best part is I've been playing Ode To Joy by heart and I played it just like the tab! :D

Thanks :)
