Thought I'd post this here as well:

http://www.folkblues.com/uke/

It's a veritable library of all sorts of things uke-related, from instruction to buying ukes, festvals, all sorts of different subjects. And all because I was researching George Harrison's love of the ukulele. :D

Hey Kelly! I was poking around some of the uke sites and at Ukulele Boogaloo they have a spot called Uke World. You snap a pic of your uke in front of a famous (or not so famous, lol) local landmark and send it in. There are some very cool pics and I came across this....that I thought would be of interest to you.

I loved those, Laura :) I wish I had taken a few pics of just my uke in London now.

This was my favourite, H.C. Andersen

There are too many good ones, lol! The dinosaur! The beautiful, scenic ones...

Wish I could think of somewhere here....oh wait, I can. I just don't want to go to downtown Detroit all alone to do it, lol!

I think we all need to submit pics there- and of course, here! :D

LOL! Those are brilliant! I'll have to try and do that with Bret in New Zealand lol. Sheffield doesn't really have any landmarks. It has a lot of fountains, but I don't think Bret can swim :worry:

Oh Laura, there are many interesting places in Michigan...even just in the Detroit Metro area

Michigan Stadium-The BIG HOUSE!!
The Detroit Institute of Art's Diego Rivera mural
Hart Plaza downtown Detroit
The Mowtown Museum (I still need to go there!)
Eastern Market
Henry Ford Museum
Greenfield Village
The FOX Theatre (such a beautiful theater...in such a derelict city :|)
Detroit Opera House-very beautiful!
:D

I like the idea of a statue....maybe the Fist (Joe Louis) or the Spirit of Detroit, posed so it looked like my uke was in their hand.....:)

One of these days! :D
