I edited it and it still won't put the chords in their proper spots...grrrrr!

Here's where I got it:

Rachel, in your excitement the other night, can you remember what chords Bret and Nigel were discussing for "5 Foot 2, Eyes Of Blue"? I haven't found that sheet music yet, but I'm going to look it up. I'd love to know which chords they were stuck on.

They kept saying A7 a lot and then not knowing after that. So looking at the chords, I think they got stuck pretty much straight away.

Thanks for the chords Laura, the chords themselves don't look too hard, just changing to D7 is annoying me and will have to listen to the song a few times to get the strumming right. It is now my challenge for it to be my first song (it just has to be). But probably once exams are all over.

D7 is a toughy, Rachel.

You can play "If You're Into It" with 2 one-finger chords: C and Am. The strumming pattern is a little wonky, but it's pretty easy to hammer out if you listen to the song ;)

How do you do D7 Kelly? Do you barre the 2nd fret and hit the A string w/ your middle or ring, depending on if you use middle to hold down index?

I was using 3 fingers on the GCE strings and my pinky on the A but....there's that whole fat finger problem, lol. I find barring easier...

I do the barre chord using my middle finger on the A string  I think that has to be the easiest way no matter how skinny your fingers might be:)

It's hard for changing chords but that's probably more due to me getting used to barring, which is def easier than the other way.....wish I'd never gotten as used to it as I did. Have to practice....

If I bar chords I usually have to use two fingers to bar it right. So barring and holding with a pinky works well, but it makes a quick transition near impossible. I'm in the habit of holding down the first three strings with my middle finger and then picking up the fourth with my pinky.

I found my music, but the chords were few and far between. Surprisingly, I had done it in G, with the blasted B7 (always hard on the guitar for me).

The sheet music was actually in a booklet of lyrics to old songs of a bygone era, with tunes like Bill Bailey, If You Knew Susie, Heart Of My Heart, 5 Foot 2, etc
I had an idea for a WTFIUO video. We know Bret and Nigel enjoy playing an old song or two. Most of these songs can be played with a few chords, and most of them are in the key of C, so if each member took a different tune, maybe they could be strung together to form a fun sing-along video. :dunno:

Or, we could all try 5 Foot 2, and send it to WIUO, attention Nigel and Bret. :eyelashes:

I like that idea, Nancy

I don't know any of the songs though. Would you make a list and I'll see what I can find on Youtube? :eyelashes:

5 foot 2 chords are in the 1st post top of this page, and the video I posted is a dude playing it on banjolele. :)

The only song I'm not familiar with is Heart of my Heart...so will check that out. :) Great idea, Nancy. :D

Here's the guy himself, Mitch Miller.
Anyone with a musical background will stare at his conducting style, which was mimicked by comics of the era, but his show was one of the most popular of the time. If you look closely, you'll see a familiar Sesame Street face:

If you check out the other videos on the right, Heart Of My Heart is there, along with the Sing Along gang - 20 years older!
I think some tunes like these (there are tons more) might be fun for a uke video because they often used banjo accompaniment on the show, and Bret and Nigel proved ukes sound great playing them. Plus a lot of them are really easy, which would help slackers like me. :worry:

Don't we still have a WTFIUO video that isn't finished yet?

I.....ehm...I.... :  don't know what you are talking about.... :worry:

Yeah, we do. *hangs head in shame*

I need to get on that. We may have to record new parts eventually though, and we are still one person short. I'll look for the various files when I get home

But I would still like to do what Nancy is suggesting. Putting videos after each other seems a lot easier than putting 4 videos in at the same time. I need a computer or music producer geek to help out. I'll ask my brother :)

Haha, not trying to make anyone feel badly, honest! I just hate starting new projects when old ones are still unfinished. Personal peeve of mine
