I'm trying my hand at Somewhere over the Rainbow and I have the chords down fairly well, just trying to get the strumming rhythm right and I'm finding it surprisingly difficult to sing at the same time as I play.
Ok, I'm feeling confident enough to say I will have a video up early next week. I've kind of mastered actually singing whilst playing, just mostly having trouble with moving my fingers on the frets in time.
I got the, and I quote, "Paul Hannon Seal of Approval" (my older brother) when I played for him, after he laughed when I told him I bought it, so that's helped me no end!
Really want to point out a few things: This was about my 10th time in a row trying to get it perfect and I finally just thought "play through the mistakes", so I did. I was extremely sleep deprived at the the time so, in my opinion at least, my eyes look really dead. I found it hard to sing the low notes so they fall quite flat at times. Apologies for my "screamy" high note towards the end!
The playing was terrific and your singing was, too. I liked the screamy high-note...you went all rock-star, lol! The very end though with the big sigh and the "I'm done...." I can relate to that after making a jillion recordings and starting over again and again...
