I just bought another uke. :worry: I got it with BDay money and it's my upgrade uke now that I know I love it and can play somewhat well. :) It's a Kala solid acacia concert and it comes with Aquilas, an elect tuner, and case. (MusicGuyMic on eBay) I tried a concert size the other day and just loved it. I'm so excited about this one!! I love its sound and think it's just beautiful. I believe biscuit and I will now have the same one though I think with the differences in wood grain they won't look identical.

Thanks for the advice, biscuit, it was most appreciated.

Go kipples! Looking forward to your next video. :D

I can't wait to hear me play it as well! Now I need to settle on a song and practicepracticepractice! :D

I played the different uke demos for Tom and he said he could tell the difference in the tone.....although he really liked the looks of the Flamed Mahogany Kala. :) I said that'd change once he sees the acacia.

$281.

But you get the uke, a case, an electronic tuner, and a chord book. And no shipping. :)

On Kala's site, the uke alone is listed at $419. I emailed MusicGuyMike and asked if it was the Kala model# K-ASAC-C and he said "yes." :)

Ah, she's a beauty, in'she?

And I gather by you refering to her as 'her' that you get the sense that she is a female? That is how I feel about mine. However much I wanted to name my Acacia after a guy it just won't stick. She's definitely a girl :) What are you naming her?

I know you'll get another Kelly and I'll be looking at yours going, "Hmmm, do I need another???" "NO!!"

As far as I'm concerned- I'm done. I don't ever want a baritone. i think.

biscuit....yes. She's a she, for sure. But I'm completely unoriginally calling her Kala right now, lol. :D

He put in a sheet about uke care, and suggested putting her in a humidified room. Do any of you do that, or monitor your room's humidity?

Seeing as each of my ukes cost under $100 (as much as I love them dearly), I'm not too worried. But musicguymic always puts in a sheet like that. I got one with each of mine. It's too hard for me to monitor the humidity of my rooms here. Though I will say that I try to keep them in the rooms that experience the least amount of temperature extremes and neither n.h. or Clement have had any warping or anything of the wood.

But since you have a nice acacia I would recommend taking better care than I do mine

So you're not getting a pocket uke then? :eyelashes:

I don't monitor the humidity, but I live in a climate that is neither very dry or very humid so I think she'll be fine. (Mine is also known as Kala, or Kalaen (Norwegian= the Kala), for now  )

biscuit, are they're really such things....hang on, I'll google it...Ahhh god they're so cute! I plan to have one before the year is out!

Just got an email there about a ukulele jam session that's happening wednesday.
I'll actually be able to play with other ukulele-ites (word I just made up. What are we called anyway? No time for google.) :D

It is, Hel. I know I'm getting really redundant but I just love her! My thumb is killing me right now, dammit.

kipples, if you go back to page 9 in this thread, you can see pics of SecretCheri's travel uke. :D

Hm, our house gets dry in winter and I have noticed a bit of a buzz to BigDaddy of late....and the G chord has sounded flat. :hrm:
Can something like that be fixed? I am pretty bad about leaving him out rather than storing him in his case. Kala is now resting in hers.
