Lightning Media is reinforcing its upcoming distribution slate with a horror-comedy called Diagnosis: Death.

The tone of director Jason Stutter's film is said to be in line with Peter Jackson's early works. The story, co-penned by Stutter and Raybon Kan, concerns two people undergoing a radical treatment for cancer. Locked in a medical facility over a weekend as guinea pigs for a drug trial, they discover the clinic may pose more harm than they could have imagined. The drugs cause hallucinations. Or are they seeing ghosts for real? Struggling with their senses, they must team up to solve a haunting secret.

The Flight of the Conchords Bret McKenzie, Rhys Darby and Jemaine Clement star with Raybon Kan, Jessica Grace Smith and Suze Tye.

For those who have seen Peter Jackson's early work this isn't exactly the best news ( ) but the FOTC reference is cool.

Jason Stutter co-wrote and is directing, so that's a plus in my book. :) I'm looking forward to seeing what their roles will be.....:D

There's no IMDB page for it yet....

what the.... folk?!
that's hilariously bizarre!

and SheWolf, Peter Jackson's early work has it's fans
The films were far from high art, to say the least, but they excelled in their genre (schlock-horror).

This news... I'm finding a little hard to process, but I'm pretty excited :D
It's very cool that they'll all be working together again on something completely different, that's wonderfully brave of them.

... now, if only Edgar Wright's name was attached as well...
oh well, can't have everything I suppose.
It's all about the music.

Wow, that's completely weird!! I'm pretty excited if it's true. I can never pass up an opportunity for 2 hours with Rhys, Jemaine, and Bret. Plus, Peter Jackson! I shall be waiting eagerly for more info.

I'm not really familiar with Peter Jackson's early work (or any of his work for that matter) but I'm looking him up right now.

Ah, Meet the Feebles. I remember renting this through Netflix and I couldn't get into it. I probably watched half an hour of it before sending it back. Eh. I guess it's not for everyone.

But I'm still excited to see what's in store for this one.

They've all matured a bit since working on Tongan Ninja, but they're also all familiar with each other from working together in the past, so this could turn out quite well.

It could Indy. I did note it said it was 'featuring' Bret, Jemaine and Rhys. And that Raybon Kan, Jessica Grace Smith, Suze Tye are listed as starring. Giving them a prominent mention is a sure fire way to garner publicity for the film though  It may be they have small parts, nothing major. I quite like the idea of them being ghosts
