Hey, this idea isn't so bad! We could all write a haiku for Bret. He might wonder what haikus have to do with him or FotC, but maybe he'll appreciate the originality?

Happy Birthday Bret
Here are some haikus for you
From your loving fans.
He's gonna wake up in a smoothie.

Quicker to deliver than a box, as well

Happy Birthday, Bret
That phrase has five syllables,
which is quite useful.
That's the conclusion that I've come to, but...

Happy Birthday, Bret -
even if you don't see these.
It's the thought that counts.
That's the conclusion that I've come to, but...

Bret, it's your birthday
As you're probably aware

Heesh, I finally came up with a haiku! I know there's a poetry thread for this stuff too, but this one's indeed b-day related.

I baked you a cake
Which is what I like to do
It's Bret-shaped, like you

Did I get that right? I'm tirrible with sillibles.

Excellent haiku, Suzy!

33 is not old
You're still hot like a curry
Murray, not so much

Good use of his age in the haiku, ZWP (if I may call you that).

I was trying very hard to come up with something along the lines of ... 'a cake in the shape of a 33', but couldn't work out the syllables.

Of course!

'Cake shaped like a thirty-three' should do it :D

Oooh, you ARE good.

Hmm, I'll have to think on that one. But unfortunately I'll be leaving work soon so all my free time is about to end for the day. 8)

I was driving to work today, casually thinking about Bret's birthday and what if anything I could do.

I brainstormed lots of ideas and they were as rapidly discarded as they occured, (due to extreme lameness I might add) and suddenly I felt a sudden one-ness with the characters Bret and Jemaine from the show when they were desparately, sincerely and feverishly devoted to finding the perfect birthday gift for Sally. Yes, B & J must know a bit about our pain. At least enough to write it into their show! :roll2:

Ah, life imitates art. (at least in my mind)
