Yay- we can see his ears this time! Thanks, Venus! I missed him while viewing it, too.

Gibss, he's supposed to get to sing! :sing:

Yup! :D (I think...go back to page one of this thread....I'm not sure if I've just cemented in my head that he'll sing because his character did or what...)

Someone who knows better will enlighten us, I'm sure! :)

I remember someone saying that Lindir is meant to be a musician/minstrel but I don't think Bret ended up singing (other than making up a musical with Sir Ian McKellen behind the scenes ;) ). He should at least have a few lines though. :)

ETA: Here's a quote from Bret posted earlier in the thread

"I’ve got a proper name this time: Lindir. In the book he was a musical elf. This time, if I make the edit, I'll speak in Elvish. But I don’t sing. They haven’t asked me to do the theme song yet! Maybe this time it’s me and Annie Lennox."

I received a Save the Date email a few days ago. If you want to go to the U.S. premiere and after party, are from the NYC area, and have $500, you're in luck. :|

December 6, 2012 | 7:00 PM
Ziegfeld Theatre, New York

Reservation form: http://afi.com/drop/THEHOBBIT_AdvanceReservation.pdf

I could also forward the email to anyone who wants more info. PM me.

Ahh, the Zeigfield. Next to Radio City, it's my favorite movie theatre. It certainly would be a great place to see it.

that would be THE venue!!! I would LOVE to take the boys to NYC. They have had to put up with years of me raving about it.... not too sure about the flight length tho. :P Liam really struggled with the 2 and a bit to NZ so.... hmmm :( Could always pop him into a doggy carrier :O

That would be such a cool premiere and after party to attend but it is understandably quite expensive.

If anyone has access to a Sunday NY Times, get the Travel section to see this:

http://travel.nytimes.com/2012/10/07/tr ... d=all&_r=0

It's on the front page, as well as a full center spread. Great article about the area we know and love. :D

Very cool. :thumb: Such a beautiful place.

Some more details have been revealed about the world premiere in Wellington on November 28 although there's still lots of secrecy for now. Even Wellington is going to be renamed "The Middle of Middle Earth" (more info).

I was thinking of seeing The Master there soon coz I've never been inside & I worry about it closing down before I get to experience the majesty (& the bathrooms).

Folks I've spoken to really didn't like The Master at all, except for the acting.
I have no memory of the Zeigfield rest rooms. I do remember dancing down the aisles because we were the first people let in to see the Village People movie, "Can't Stop The Music", starring Valerie Perrine and Bruce Jenner. Yeah that Bruce Jenner. Maybe that's why I don't remember the rest rooms. :puzzled:
