TMZ is a celeb gossip site. I only know of them cos they were the first to report Michael Jackson and Brittany Murphy's death. I had never seen their TV show before this but yeah it appears they usually make fun of celebs. It's all pretty silly but Jemaine handled them well!
This actually wasn't as bad as I feared it would be when I first heard he was on it. I truly despise that show, but I thought Jemaine handled them very well and politely and patiently answered their questions. And, I agree Venus, his reaction when he finds out who they are
It's so funny to me that now people have stopped calling him Jermaine for the most part, and have switched to mispronouncing his last name in this bizarre way. I don't ever remember people saying CleMENT before this. It's OK, everyone in the entermainment media, you can just pronounce his name the way it's really said, he doesn't mind.
On the HBO show his name was Jemaine Clemaine....right? (I don't know how it's spelled) Pronounced JeMAINE CleMAINE. Maybe that's where the mix up is from?
Jemaine's last name is a word, people! An adjective that incidentally means, "mild or merciful in disposition or character; lenient; compassionate" emphasis on the first syllable.
My real life last name is also a word (that incidentally is a verb meaning "to gaze meditatively or wonderingly." ) but my point is...it is more often than not mispronounced anyway. I find it difficult at times to find clement words to correct the speaker.
I agree, mock - no sooner do we get Jemaine's first name pronounced correctly, they start blowing his last name! I do think they were affected by the HBO name, nonch. The first time I remembered hearing Clement mispronounced was at the Emmys, of all places. I know there are people on staff of certain shows (Emmys, Jimmy Fallon, etc) whose job it is to check facts and pronunciations. Come on, people, do your job!!!
Thanks for reminding folks of the definition of Clement, nonch. It is indeed very fitting for Jemaine.
Oh, fish-like Lady
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
