Didn't eorious say the lead character is 15? Jemaine is a good actor but I'd have a hard time suspending my disbelief enough to accept him as a 15 year old. He has way too much chest and facial hair, lol. ;)

They could alter the story somewhat to fit their needs. It often happens in book to film translations that characters ages, sex, looks etc are altered beyond recognition.

It'll be interesting to see how they handle it. If it's supposed to be a coming of age story, then making the lead character a grown-up would change it quite a bit.

Awww... Sherry you just dashed my hopes of seeing how much range he truly has as an actor

(* I was having flashbacks to the Bobby Darin biopic done by Kevin Spacey a few years back  .. if you missed it you were wise; they owe me $3 and an hour and a bit of my life )

edited because I am unable to speel properly

It's true, the lead character in the book is 15. But I suppose they could alter it and make him 10 years older but still as awkward and inept as a teenager, like Jarrod in EVS. I think the main storyline would still work.

I'm not so sure that Jemaine could pull off playing a 25 year old.

With the right wardrobe peeps anything is possible ... hey they make some actresses look alot better/younger on film with just wardrobe and vaseline on the lens. (some require more vaseline than others  )

I could believe him as 25...when I first saw the show I put him at about 28...25 wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

But yis, 15 IS too much of a stretch.

Ooh exciting news! Funny how they've changed the book cover too. Can't wait for information about this film :D

I tell ya....in Eagle VS Shark I'd have bought him as 19. For real. Don't know if it was the mullet or the glasses or just the immature, awkward-dorkiness he infused Jarrod with, but he came off quite young to me.

But now? No way could I imagine him playing a 15 yr old. I'm curious to see how they're re-written the character (if that's who he's playing) and if not- just who he'll be! :)

Nice to have lots of different things to look forward to!

The new book cover may have Jemaine's glasses but it certainly doesn't have his lips. :rolls:

I thought he looked too old to be playing someone who is still obsessed with high school revenge. I thought the uber nerdiness of the costuming only emphasized his manly, rather than boyish, assets & that juxtaposition gave the whole thing an odd feel to me.
