How heavily has the film been marketed in NZ? These days you don't need huge bucks, just some creativity.

If I were the producers, I would have gotten FoTC and Split Enz fans in there in droves.

Has there been a book tie in? What about doing a quickie bio on Ronald Hugh Morrieson and running it on TV to drum up interest?

I wonder, too, if Jason Stutter needs to go to the US or the UK and work on other peoples' films for a while. You make connections that can lead to funding that way.

That just kind of sucks, but you know, if the film were direct to DVD right away in foreign markets, I would have bought it by now. Maybe that's the route Stutter needs to go.

Ouch. :( It's such a shame cos it looks like a movie with such high potential.

They marketed it pretty heavily on FB but then, lots of us are here in the States, (or as Jemaine says, "The Uniteds.") :)

I do hope it makes much more in DVD sales or that he's able to get it distributed on big screens in the US...we like quirky films and this one looks like a winner to me still!

It's really very rare that a NZ made movie actually makes a profit (that's why 'Boy's success is such a big deal!) - but this is def worse than usual! I'm thinking it will pop up on DVD here soonish if nothing else - I'll keep my eyes peeled for you all! :D

Photos from the DGA's Directors Finders screening of Predicament on Friday, November 5.

I hope this means public screenings will take place in the U.S. sometime in the near future.

And with absolutely NO fanfare... Predicament is released on DVD in time for Christmas... on December 8th.

Well, in time for Christmas here, unfortunately NZs Christmas cut-off date for international airmail (to anywhere other than Australia/Asia) will be long-gone by then (it's Nov 29th) so you'll likely not get it in time to go under the tree... :(

You can pre-order (a Zone 4 copy) at Mighty Ape or direct from Vendetta films, or there are bound to be other places too if you google.

:D :D :D :D :D

Awesome! :thumb: Thanks for the news! I still really want to see this movie. Maybe I'll get some $$ for Christmas and I can order it as a late present for myself. ;)

Hee hee! We posted at the exact same time. ;)

That is cute. At Vendetta it's called a cart though, how boring.

So - can you get region one anywhere? And is that price in NZ dollars? Please tell me it is.

I believe that would be about $27 US dollars. I think it's just NZ region for now.

Altogether it cost me 51 US dollars from Mighty Ape.
Bret: Have been sheared.
Jemaine: Have been shorn.

Yikes! :| I totally cannot afford to spend $51 on a DVD.

You can play any region on a computer though, right? Or am I wrong about that?
