That is interesting. So does Jemaine have nothing to do with the claymation, is it all Guy? I'm surprised at that.

Me too. Maybe Guy does the finish work, but I prefer to imagine that the creative process (no long "o" here) is like two little boys playing with their action figures...and when something clicks...voilà! They have a script! :D

Would I be stating the obvious if I said I think it's a penguin? I don't know what it's deal is though.

But on a farm!?!?!? and aren't penguins black and white? :hrmpf:

Yeah, I thought it was a penguin too. I remembered an episode of FOTC where Jem was talking about glad to not be in NZ because "remember the Penguins, Bret" that there were so many penguins

I love that episode! Sheesh, a quick google just said that NZ is the penguin capital of the world. Impressive. They probably don't even have turkeys in New Zealand. I guess I've just displayed my parochial notion of what a 'farm' is, but cut me a bit of slack...I live in Iowa. (92% farms, no penguins)

Anyway...I hope we get to see The Pen episode with the penguin! :D

Watching all these eps got me thinking that i had seen one in which they were in a car.. but i couldn't find it anywhere. UNTIL TODAY! Going through my Conchords' vids i found this:

no wonder i couldn't find it ...they're hedgehogs!! I reckon Jemaine is the one on the back.
But if you did I'd hold you tight / Into every single night
And we'd fall asleep together / And we'd wake up in the sunlight
Well, maybe I'm a dreamer / But maybe one day you'll see / That dreams are...

This stopmotion animation is from 2003. It was written by Jemaine Clement who also provides the voice for Phil (other characters are voiced by Bret McKenzie - Steward and David Fane - Dave). This short film was created for ClemengerBBDO (Wellington NZ) for Land Transport and it took them one year to produce.

 Jemaine again...all about the boobies. Whew! :o The language! :purple: And I'll bet not many claymation shorts are so graphic that they require pixelization.

Oh that was during the tour. No wonder I missed it.

Do we know who did the claymation/animation? I guess it won some awards...a bit of digging would probably tell us. A "safe driving" clip! :roll2:

Oh my gosh... that was tragic! Are all hedgehogs such irresponsible drivers? :hrm: ;)

And also quite funny, lol. "Good thing we didn't score... it smells like a fart in here."

Good memory, Laura! :thumb:
I remembered we had a thread for it once I saw the title.

When I first saw the blurb about the voices, etc, I thought it said the claymation was done by a company called Clemenger, so I figured it was done by Jemaine and someone with "enger" in their name. :dunno:
But upon re-reading it, I realized that Clemenger BBDO must be the ad agency, because BBDO is a commercial agency in NYC. Nice try, Nance.
Oh, fish-like Lady
Lady-like Fish
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
No, no, she's a fish that's just a little bit
La-dy-ish! Yeah!

You'd be right Nancy! I remember seeing this on TV when it came out - they must've spent some serious money on it. I don't know how effective it was though!
