Exciting news :D
Jemaine Clement Joins Sarah Jessica Parker’s HBO Comedy Pilot ‘Divorce’

Look who’s back at HBO! Flight Of The Conchords co-creator/star Jemaine Clement is set for a guest starring/recurring role in HBO’s comedy pilot Divorce, which marks the return to the network of another signature star, Sarah Jessica Parker.

Written by British writer-actress Sharon Horgan and directed by Jesse Peretz, Divorce tells the story of a very, very long divorce. It centers on Frances (Parker), a woman who suddenly begins to reassess her life and her marriage, and finds that making a clean break and a fresh start is harder than she thought. Clement will recur as Julian, Frances’ close friend, a literature professor who lives in Manhattan. The breakdowns for the project indicate that the two are more than friends and are dating. Thomas Haden Church and Molly Shannon co-star. Horgan executive produces alongside Paul Simms, Aaron Kaplan, Parker and Alison Benson.

This is the first U.S. TV gig for New Zealand-born actor, comedian and musician Clement since the end of the Emmy-nominated Flight Of The Conchords. He is in two movies that premiered at Sundance, Don Verdean and People, Places, Things.

Fingers crossed it gets picked up for a series and does well. Happy for Sharon Horgan too. :)

 I'm really intrigued to find out more about this show and the type of character Jemaine plays (will he keep his NZ accent?) They were filming in NYC last week. :)

Came across a synopsis of Divorce :)

Influenced by her two recently single friends, a middle-aged woman impulsively brings up the idea of divorce with her husband but then can’t decide whether to actually go through with it — until her husband discovers the affair she’s been having and calls the marriage off.

might have to re-up on HBO for that.
Love that Molly Shannon and Thomas Haden Church are involved too. They're a-listers to me in terms of talent.
