Isn't bad at all, is it? :) Our seats are in the lower circle, left section, about half way back. I can't tell from that photo how much further around that section goes, so don't know how "sideways" our view will be IYSWIM.

The theatre looks lovely from the outside as well, with a coloured glass archway over the front entrance.
That's the conclusion that I've come to, but...

We might be sitting close enough to each other trefusis. I worked out my seat for this gig is on the left side (of this pic) but in the front row.

(cont. from 06 MAY DUBLIN (European Tour 2010))...and then my seat for this one is towards the back of the stalls section to the right of the pic.

Cool :)

But - do you mean front row of circle, or actual front of stalls? If the latter I am so, so jealous. In fact, front row of anything I am jealous. And the left of that pic is Bret side as well... <sigh>

Give him a lecherous wave from me, won't you?

Was hunting about last night for reviews of what the various seats are like. Apparently there are a fair few restricted view seats (like, with pillars in front) but those were flagged up on the ticket site IIRC. Front of circle is supposed to be great, but a couple of rows have the view obstructed by a safety bar. Hopefully neither of those things apply to any of us, but might be worth knowing if anyone's trying to score more tickets.

The main point everyone was making was that the seats are pretty cramped and there ain't much legroom for anyone over about 5'6". As it happens, I am a short*rse but those who are taller should maybe be warned. (Given the choice, I'd have grown tall enough to have less legrom and more chance of seeing over the head of the 7 foot bloke who invariably sits in front of me  .)
That's the conclusion that I've come to, but...

I'm in the lower circle bit so yay :D !
Yea the good thing about the Olympia is that even if your at the top you still get some kind of grand view even if it is looking right down on top of them.
And now you mention it I do remember the seats being kinda cramped up in the rear circle.

The special guest for the first half of the European tour has changed, as David O’Doherty will open the two dates in Dublin, and Eugene Mirman will support the band from May 8 to May 15. The two shows in Amsterdam will be an Evening With Flight Of The Conchords.

Ah! Was looking forward to Eugene! At least I'm going to Manchester as well!

Thanks Venus.

I saw Eugene last year... I was actually looking forward to Kristen. I don't know anything about this David O’Doherty guy.

This is probably what he's most famous for, with me anyway.

He played with FotC in Edinburgh in their early days so he's "in" with them.

Hmm... I couldn't make it through all that... but in his defense I sometimes have a short attention span especially when it comes to watching youtube stuff. I'm sure he'll at least be entertaining. Thanks, kipples! :D

 I've never heard of him before either but that was damn funny! :)

Kind of reminiscent of Tim Minchin w/o the lovely singing voice and magical piano skills....;)
I'd be happy to see him open for Jemaine and Bret. :thumb:

I know that song can be fairly grating to listen to but he's incredibly popular, at least in my home town.
