I'm really hoping this doesn't affect everyone travelling for the Irish gigs including FOTC.

Actually, according to the article I read, it wouldn't affect flights coming from UK/Europe:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100503/ap_on_bi_ge/eu_iceland_volcano

Edit: Nevermind, if the airspace is closed, it WOULD effect them. But I'm sure they could take a ferry, right?

There are ferries...right!?

My friends keep telling me "Sure that's hardly going to effect you" to which I keep replying "It's not me I'm worried about it's them!!" :nails:

I think that refers to flights over Irish airspace, but not landing/taking off there.

I know that some Dublin gigs did go ahead during the last ban, including some big star or other having to slum it on the ferry. So it could be done, sure enough. ATM I'm concentrating all my vibes on getting flights for the girls coming over from the US

What about Belfast? It isn't affected by the ban and is at least on the same island. Wonder if they could divert flights to Belfast International?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently in Dallas (er, Grapevine, whatever) with Bgirl.
It looks like so far our flight is still a go... woohoo! :D

It hadn't even occurred to me that B&J's travel could be affected, too. From what I understand, flights happening until 1 pm Tuesday are affected, but if they're playing another Amsterdam gig, they wouldn't be flying until after that, so it should be ok?... :dunno: or at least, I hope so!

Anyhoo, we'll be traveling all day tomorrow and, if all goes as planned, will arrive in Dublin early Wednesday morning... wish us luck! :D

Soooooo much luck heading your way, funny. Sounds like your plane isn't slated to get to Dublin until after 1 pm Dublin time then which is why it's probably still a-go, and as long as I understand it right and the volcano and winds cooperate, you should be ok!! :D
