Hey SW, not cow. It's CORN. Yes Corn. Yep. It's corn. Ok, so we're a little corn & a little bit cow.

So I'm dying here - does Indy have any sort of accent? I know she's lived all over, but any trace of the South, or Utrecht even? Plus, no shot of her anywhere? I was hoping for one of you Big Three WTFers.

Sorry Nancy, I don't do photos. :tsk: You can see my hair in one of SW photos of Jemaine after the concert, though. I probably don't have much of an accent; people here ask me if I'm English rather than American, although I'm sure fellow Americans would recognize me as one of their own. I'm pretty generic.

Nonch, sorry again about not yelling. For what it's worth, Bret didn't seem to hear me say doei as he left, either. It would seem I'm generically quiet, too. Love the slideshow of the NZ Orchestra!

Nancy, a bit of indy's golden tresses can be seen here:

Doei? Aha. I wondered what they were saying when they left the stage.

I didn't notice any accent on indy. :)

Oh yes the midwest is corn isn't it? I watched Food Inc the other night. I should know that.

You needn't apologize Indigo...I have no one to blame but myself, allowing myself to be distracted so easily. I guess I can also blame Jemaine a bit. How can even the biggest Bretero be expected to keep focused when Jemaine is right there...looking all shy and sexy and being so saucy with our dear SheWolf...

Image

Indigo, I try to remember back to the moment I fully realized that I had been completely oblivious to Bret's near proximity to my person...I vaguely recall that in my anquish I may have forgot my manners and I don't even remember saying good-bye to you. I regret that we didn't have more time to chat. :partyman: It was so lovely to meet you and I vastly enjoyed our conversation inside the Melkweg before those guys on stage started up and totally interrupted us. :?

Also I must mention that I was brought nearly to tears that night...not by missing out on Bret...(that feeling was more disbelief and disappointment)...but by the SheWolf, who despite her proper euphoria at such a brilliant encounter with her own Conchord...detected my pain and walked over and embraced me saying, "Awww, I'm so sorry. Here's a substitute Bret hug." *sniff* Girlfriend, I love ya! Oh, and did I tell you that she also wore stripey socks for me nearly every day...and then that one night she even...oops we promised never to talk about that night.

What happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam. 8)

Don't worry; I'm pretty sure we did all say goodbye, although I was a bit antsy about getting back anyway, since I still had to get a tram, train and bus or cab. I might have dashed a bit fast anyway. :worry: It was great to finally meet you and SW and I appreciated having someone to hang out with through it all. I wouldn't have stayed after otherwise!

Aw look at that cute widdle face. I just wanna squish it. Was he grinning like that over my doofiness of being all “do you want to hug? Yeah! Let’s do it! Come on!” I can’t believe I said stuff like that. Oh well. You can't say I wasn't enthusiastic.

After we said our fond farewells to the J Dog and he disappeared into the dark cobblestoned night I do believe we all had a proper chat and gave indy a fitting send off.

I only regret that my beard was not scratchy enough to make it believable.

Right back at ya. You'll always be my favorite hooker.

In fact nearly all of my Amsterdam wardrobe was striped.

:purple: You were adorable, I'm sure he found you charming and I give you snaps for the clever insertion of flirty, double entendre at such a moment. With my overactive imagination and my mild case of narcissism it is sometimes easy for me to interpret Jemaine's smile as smugness that his plan to assist Bret in escaping the Melkweg "un-nonched" that night, had succeeded.  :|

I can vouch for this as truth. :roll2: Ahhhhhh sitting in the warm sunshine on the Amstel... :whitey: ...watching all the "not Bret's" go by... :whitey: ....When are we going back? :D

I know that feeling. Berkeley 2009. Whambi & 4ever had turned up and I was trying to be cheerful but I have no recollection of what went down except the sinking realization that we'd been bamboozled! :hrmpf:

Soon. I've got 20 euro burning a hole in my pocket and there's a stripper pole with your name on it at The Bulldog in Leidseplein.

The Melkweg is not very big. This is the left side of the room. The green lit rectangle in the right of the photo is the very back of the bar, and I took this photo standing at the stage. People were crammed everywhere. Aisles, stairs, probably half of the crowd was standing, leaning or sitting on...well, not chairs. The night of the concert, I was trying to make my way to the back of the venue through the crowd about 10 minutes before the show started. It was a winding, awkward trip involving nearly landing on someone's lap. There were no visible aisles left. I overheard a guy say that he had complained to the management that it was too crowded, and he had been assured that only 1000 tickets had been sold, far under capacity.

I had plenty of room up in the front row though...no complaints from me. 8) I feel so fortunate to have seen them in this venue, the sound (at least up front) was sublime, the gorgeous location on the canal (though how they keep the drunks from falling in, I just don't know) and the intimate cozy feel of it... ...perfection.

Dammit, I forgot about the stripper pole. I should have done it that night, when I first had the urge. :? I also need to get on a bike... :nails: but I believe I accomplished all of my other (non-conchord) goals...including dining at FEBO and eating the raw herring...gullet to the sky! Nou breekt m'n klomp!! (did I get that right, Indi? :D )

Something about a broken clog? :hrm:

Hey! Look! The four little half heads in the bottom center of that last photo are me and my friends! It really was a great venue to see them, and it really was packed!

I love that too. As if hooker wasn't a classy enough term of endearment, tranny takes the cake.

We must go back. We don't have photos of Vondelpark do we? What about the Dutch not Brets and the Jemainalikes?

Hey I have 2 comments on Flickr from people I don't know telling me how good I look in my rain bonnet from the $1 store. I can only imagine the response I'd get if I had one of those fancy bonnets with designs on them.

Did you try on your I  Amsterdam panties? Mine are too small. Maybe I'll just hang them on my wall as a souvenir. I still regret not buying J some man panties & I will live forever with chocolate boobie regret. Imagine the look on his face if I had given him chocolate boobies? It would have been glorious.
