sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but

I've been wondering, why do they sing about sneakers? do they use sneakers instead of trainers in NZ? Or is it because they wrote it to perform in America for American audiences?

They may well use sneakers over trainers there. Its a commonly enough understood term in English speaking countries round the world though :wink:

And the song was written back in *thinks* 2004 and performed in the UK and elsewhere way before it made it to the US in 2005 on the HBO special, so no I don't think it was written for a US audience.

I'm more inclined to think it was just a better word for the flow of the song :)

I'm a newcomer to this FOTC world, still not less addicted.

Just wanted to share something about the sont zootka part. It actually seems like he's trying to fit "aw c'mon think think bout it" in an impossible metric.

What does sont zootka mean?

Hey! Here in New Zealand we say sneakers more than trainers! I live in NZ :yawinkle:
