The one that forces me into fits of hysteria is "If You're Into It" - Bret's love song for Coco, co-written by Jemaine. Jem's lines crack me up every time, esp when also watched.  :rolls: :rolls:
All r xllent, esp when groups/artists r perfectly imitated, eg. Inner City Pressure - Pet Shop Boys, Think About It - Marvin Gaye, Business Time - Barry White   :jc:
Jem's voice is esp sexy in Foux de Fa Fa & Business Time.
Foux de Fa Fa reminds me of French porn music - I don't watch that stuff usually!

When in doubt, check the What the Folk site proper. There's a whole section dedicated to the CDs and such that they've released. You can listen to Jenny on the music player at the top of the page, and Bus Driver's Song and Hotties come from their first album, Folk the World (the live word tour CD listed on the page). There are links further down on the page to where you can purchase the album. We like to support the guys, so why not actually purchase the CD rather than downloading illegally. ;) Plus, there are a few other songs (not to mention different variations of known songs) on that CD. It really is worth the cost and effort.

Thank you so much for this info - I wouldn't have known where to go otherwise! At least I now know where to start. :thumb: :thumb:
Not everything's available in Australia and we are often a fair bit behind everyone else - the final episode of HBO's Flight Of The Conchords was only screened tonight, 1.5 hrs ago. :| ...
Aside from that, the What The Folk site appears never ending to me - I sometimes get lost in it! :worry:

I can't thank you enough! :thanks:

btw, I don't download songs illegally from the internet. :tsk:
I'm an oldie who still hasn't quite caught on with downloading music onto mp3 players - I like to be able to actually hold the disc in my hand! (I don't own an mp3 player - I want to save my ears). :thanks:

No worries. For what it's worth, the Folk the World CD is only available in NZ. We've all had to order it online, but the sources listed are quite good. I've bought a lot of stuff over the past few years from smokecds, among others.

I'm not giving up my vinyl, so I can understand. ;) But I am getting more into mp3s and I love my iPod (using it right now), although I still buy the actual disc when it comes to certain super-loved artists.

my favourite song is probably she's so hot...boom. because the beat makes me dance and i love it when jemaine goes "fast forward selecta!"

my favourite lines though are mainly in inner city pressure

you want to sit down, but you sold your chair...so you, you just stand there...YOU JUST STAND THEEEEERE.

the manager, bevin starts to abuse me...hey man, i just want some muesli!

what happened to those other underpants you had?

yeah, it's hilarious eh?

actually, now that i think, think about it, think, think about it might nudge inner city pressure for funniest lines:

killing each other with knives and forks, and calling each other names like dork

who's touching these monkeys?

and he said ooooooow oooooow oooow ooooow

turns out he's dead

WHAT ARE YOUR OVERHEADS!?

Wild Rhino Stampede - LOLOLOLOLOL - that would be a great user name.

I just found this thread and I'll have to go back and read everyone's comments. There is no way I can pick a favorite song coz they are each so different it's like comparing apples and oranges.

I do have a soft spot for Think About It though because it was the first song I heard them do where I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe and tears were rolling down my face (the only song I heard previous to that was Jenny, which is cute, but not necessarily a bust a gut laughing experience). I had One Night Stand taped and when Jemaine said there's people on the street getting diseases from monkeys I was like WTF? and I was laughing so hard I had to turn the tape off because I couldn't hear the rest of the song. I tried 4-5 times to get through that song without dying but then there would be another line like some guy's chopped off his head and I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead which would set me off again, then the overheads bit, then the cutleries in the knees, then the way they made ape sounds at the end. I swear, with the exception of This is Spinal Tap, I had never laughed so hard in my life.

I never can choose one single favorite, but it's not Jenny. I think I'm in the minority because that is probably my least favorite song. Maybe if I heard them do it live??

I suppose She's So Hot ... Boom! because as someone else said upthread, it really makes me move and all the uses of the word Boom are very, very funny. I just love that song.

I also really love I'm Not Crying, because it's almost a serious, melancholy love song, and those get to me every single time. Musically it's very lovely and I like the way their voices sound together.
