I think I have to agree with you, H. Just today I put on The Distant Future for the first time in a long time, and Most Beautiful Girl got me again. I don't think it's on the album, but in concert during "I do my moves, I do the Robot", doesn't Jemaine say, "Resistance is futile"?
Oh, fish-like Lady
Lady-like Fish
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
No, no, she's a fish that's just a little bit

i got Cheer up Murray the other day and laughed my arse off when Jemaine cries out 'You got ALL of your limbs!'
Ah Gandolf...I like what you've done with your beard.

We'll never make it...there's thousands of them and only about 8 of us!
Oh no!
We made it.
Hurray!

it's just so funny that they sing about ordinary things as if they mean it seriously, like in mutha'uckas when jemaine is acting all hip and badass talking about his bank statement... LOL

A very large part of what makes them funny is the sincerity they give to ridiculous things not only in the way they sing or say things but the way they do it. Which is why, although I love the radio series, TV is absolutely the ideal medium for them.

Still Busdrivers Song, Pencils In The Wind (Folk The World and live versions not HBO one) and Hotties.

Adore Jenny also.

SW, does that mean that Cheer Up Murray is at the bum of your list of FotC songs? :brick:

I prefer tv, possibly because I can actually see them.

Yup, probably rock bottom o' the list.

Though my top 5 rotates Angels :halo: is always one of them for the sexy (Jem) & angelic (Bret) vocals and heavenly guitars.

I love it when they say 'nobody knows what goes on under those robes'. The way that Jems voice sounds for robes is mmmmmmmm.
