She's So Hot.... BOOM! Guitar Tab

Postby Kbob » Mon Apr 23, 2007 11:18 am

Flight of the Conchords
She's so hot....BOOM!
Tabbed by: Nic (bogunbrothers@hotmail.com)

Ok this is my first tab... 100% sure it is right. HBO One Night Stand' performance version. One of my favourite songs by the great Kiwi band.

I've tabbed both Brett and Jemaine's parts in the song. Both guitars are standard tuning. Brett (I think) has a Casio dg-20 guitar synth (which plays the drums, mandolin etc), and Jemaine has an electric acoustic.

Brett's Part (Let all these notes ring):

E----------------------------------------------|
B----------------------------------------------|
G--0-------h1--p0---h1p0-h1p0-h1p0---|
D----------------------------------------------|
A----------------------------------------------|
E----------------------------------------------|
Repeat the above section until...

The mandolin comes in (Just tremelo pick the notes to simulate the effect if you have a normal guitar):

e--3~~~h4~p3~~h4p3~h4p3~h4p3~|
B------------------------------------------------|
G------------------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------------------|
A------------------------------------------------|
E------------------------------------------------|

Repeat this as well until he says (See ya shakin that boom boom (Who?)

Then repeat after this break-down to the end.

Jemaine's Part (He just plays the bassline on the low strings):

D-----------------|
A------5-------1-| x3
E-3-3----3-3---|

After the above section is played three times, Jemaine plays this:

D-------------------|
A------1------------|
E-3-3----3-3--2--|

Then the first section is played again.
You can mix it up by playing this:

D-----------------|
A------1------1--|
E-3-3----3-3---|

Now when the drums from Brett's guitar come in, the tempo increases, and Jemaine now plays:

D---------------------------------------|
A------5------1------4-----------------|
E-3-3----3-3----3-3----3-3-5h6-3-|

Repeat this as neccessary until the break-down when he just plucks the
low G note:

A-------|
E--3---|

Then the final part when the drums are pounding away and they are dancing is just:

A------4--|
E--3-3---|

Keep repeating until the end.

You can mix the bassline up by palm muting, pinch-plucking and/or plucking the strings from close to the bridge to create a bouncy sound.

This is a pretty easy tab to learn and a funny song as well.

Thats pretty impressive. I know of someone who will be very happy to try these tabs out :) I'll add these to the tabs section soon also if you don't mind. Will credit you for them.

Thanks for taking the time and welcome to the forum Kbob. I'm sure when the new Conchords album comes out you'll have plenty more new material to try transcribing :>

Added to the Tabs section of the main site as of today :)

Done in Courier font iirc, so it should all look ok and be readable.

Cheers for taking the time Kbob :)
