Oh Nonch, these are all wonderful! I think you've gotten the best pictures I've seen so far this tour! Thank you thank you thank you! When I see you in Vegas I'm gonna give you a real one of these...

And in your picture with Nigel you look absolutely beautiful! I'm not sure who the luckiest one in the photo is, you or Nigel!

I'll try to put together a slideshow or something so as not to clog up the thread with too many photos, but it sounds like a lot of work.

I think slide shows in photobucket are pretty easy.

It's just a simple Sony Cybershot that I got for my birthday. Not terribly expensive and quite easy to use. Looks tiny and 'non-professional' too. They didn't check our bags or discourage photographs at the Melkweg. We were fortunate. 8) I will say that I attended several concerts ahead of time to hone my skills and the settings on the camera, but I am very much an amateur. If you could see the 'bad' photos, you would agree wholeheartedly.

PHENOMENAL might just be the word I was searching for to describe nonch's pics mock. Thanks. :)

BTW my photos aren't as good as nonch's but I'll post them all when I get home. Along with the many videos I took which I think all came out really good.

Hugs from the Dam.

Have we heard about this yet??

Well it was fun to say we got backstage and we did, just not in to see FOTC. Nonch chatted up a security guard who offered to take us backstage. He led us up the stairs and into the hall where he then argued a bit with an FOTC rep who was having none of it. I can't blame her. Security dude was acting like he could do what he wanted because he worked there. He was just trying to impress us. It was fine with me. I didn't want to be there if it was a result of someone strong arming to get us in, it was awkward enough as it was. I mean, what do you say to someone when you go backstage?

Oh! I almost forgot about that. SheWolf may have to help with details or correct me if I start to embellish.... It was innocent enough... I noticed a couple of security dudes just chilling after the show on the 3rd, and of course my mind was occupied with thoughts of a potential meet and greet. I struck up a conversation with the guys and after a bit I asked them where would be the most likely place for a meet up with the band. :eyelashes: You see there was a front entrance and a back entrance to the Melkweg and we didn't want to split up, but we didn't want to miss out either.

Well, F'lex (sec. guard) said that oftentimes people just go backstage to meet the bands. Me: "Oh really?" (very nonchalant) He then asked if we had wristbands, to which we showed our unwristbanded but lovely wrists, and without a pause he said to follow him. Well, we didn't want to be rude... so through the locked glass doors we went, following F'lex into *gulp* the inner workings of the Melkweg. Seriously, through dark halls, up a silver spiral staircase...all the while I am in a total freaking panic. Are you kidding me???? How awkward was this going to be? :roll2: "Uh, hi guys!" (in a perfect Mel voice) But really, what would you have done? Said no? I'm not one to shy away from adventure...and this one was thrust before us so unexpectedly. There was no time to think about it, think, think about it.

Well, our escort enters a room while we wait in the hall...Matt was out there in the hall too. :worry: "Hi, again." *shy wave* And we could awkwardly hear an exchange that basically meant that we were NOT going to be able to meet the band. Poor F'lex put up quite a fight, I'll tell you. I have no idea why. The whole thing was his idea and perhaps it was a matter of pride, but we were more than OK to just get the heck out of there. I was quite releaved in fact, as in the time we were waiting I had attempted to come up with SOME ridiculous reason to explain our random appearance to Bret and Jemaine... and none of them were any good. You know, like: Delivering a very special gift (too bad we didn't have one) or that SheWolf was dying of a rare disease (too bad she wasn't :P )... stuff like that. :D

Well, F'lex finally gave up and escorted us back down and we returned to the lobby with nothing but the knowledge that we do indeed posess the sugalumps to walk through the door of opportunity, and a fun (though ultimately benign) little story.

Edit: I just saw your retelling, SW.

What did I leave out, SW? Weren't Jemaine and Bret showering up there or something?

Yes Flex said the talent showers up there which put an image of J lathered in Irish Spring into my mind. How could I refuse going backstage after that?

Clearly we need to have Laura with us next time. She's got all the right thing to say at the tip of her tongue. :yawinkle:

However I wasn't sure that I wanted them to know that I came all the way from America so I may have left that bit out. Of course when I opened my mouth they would probably know that anway but I was prepared to say we were in town visiting our friend Indy. :) Turns out J knew I was from Ameerica anyway. That cheeky bugger.
