so, um. I have yet to put myself out there as learning to play uke but I am so darn excited that I just played both "happy birthday" and "twinkle, twinkle, little star" that I had to share!

The chords in those are the only chords I know but it is still progress, no?

Here she be:

Just an inexpensive little mahalo (the tuner cost as much as the uke!) but still a lot of fun to play around with. Not to mention decorate!

My husband, who suffers greatly from GAS (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) has taken a keen interest in my liking the uke and is feeding his own addiction through me...he has been scoping out tenor ukes as of late. I told him he is not allowed to order one for me. I cannot trust this will be heeded though.

He has a fun little flea uke along with his bazillion guitars (he plays jazz guitar) so he's trying to say that he needs a tenor to keep it company...and then I could use it too! Um, not buying it Pal.

Jillbean, I love that your husband suffers from GAS! :rolls:

What a cute, unique uke! :thumb:
Oh, fish-like Lady
Lady-like Fish
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
No, no, she's a fish that's just a little bit
La-dy-ish! Yeah!

Jill, remember you still need to take a trip to Herb David Guitar Studio in Ann Arbor with me.

So I was cruisin craigslist today (why, I dont know) and decided to look to see if anyone was selling a uke in my area.

I came across someone selling a baritone for $45...so I email the dude and ask about it....He says its a beginner instrument, nothing special, no damage, he just doesnt play it....so blah blah blah, we exchange some more emails and he says if I help "promote" his band I can have it.....

so the vids I posted on FB (pure n8ive) are paying for a baritone uke!

Jill: I  that pin-up Mahalo! :D

CJ: That's a great deal! 8) So do we get to see this almost free baritone uke? What make is it?

My UAS is definitely acting up again :worry: Ever since playing Amanda's tenor I've been looking for one. I didn't think I wanted one because I really love the re-entrant G on the sopranos and concerts, but her tenor sounded lovely!

I'm also in the market for a better soprano. The Mahalos were great little learners but now I'm turning into a ukulele snob and I want better sound. I just found a Pono for sale on UU. I have no experience with Ponos. I just know that they're Hawaiian and that the one I want is solid ohai (a wood resembling koa and acacia apparently).
