That is a great story. 2011 is called "The Year of Happy Feet" in this rapid fire video featuring highlights of Wellington over the last 20 years. :)

Bret and Jemaine get a shout out in 1996 and they don't even require last names. They're like Bono and Fabio. Or Beck and Elvis. Awww, wook at widdle Bret in his stripey shirt and Jemaine in tiny red shorts showing lots of leg. Why is Peter Jackson photo bombing in his private jet? Was '96 also the year of Figwit?

I adore the first 20 seconds of that video. "a bit dull and had unfortunate meteorological tendencies" LOL (Crikey! the accompanying images! :o ) and "...made sweet advertising love" Unfortunately the logo for "Absolutely Positively Wellington" completely reminds me of this.

This was in the Sunday NY Times yesterday:

Oh, fish-like Lady
Lady-like Fish
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
No, no, she's a fish that's just a little bit

Guh, why's it so far away?

Just a little side note, during Hurricane Irene news coverage I saw a reporter in the Battery area of NYC that was evacuated in anticipation. She found 2 tourist kiwis wandering the area though & them by saying that New Zealanders are known for their sense of humor. How did she know that?? They were 2 older guys and were charming as hell even though they were a bit bummed that NYC was "closed." :P

And this especially for Nonch - it's part of a review of the bucket fountain written in 1969 when it was first installed... See, told you it never worked properly!

And after a bit of swimming in circles, it looks like Happy Feet has finally worked out which way is south. Geez he's got a long swim ahead tho...

Hahaaa! Awesome. Thanks. :)

The RWC opening ceremonies were amazing! :prayer: The human interaction with the projections on the field...stunning. :o   They even had a battalion of ukulele's there near the end. :thumb:

That link doesn't work in my area, Nancy. (which is probably for the best)

Here's another tempter from Holland America:

14 days, start in NZ, end in Australia, OCEANVIEW CABIN - $999. This is unheard of! Oh, it's next month. :sosad:
