Thank you so much dustdevil for your recap and welcome to the forum! :D

dustdevil wrote:-there's a railing between the stage and the first rows, and during Sugalumps they had to climb up on the railing to dance, which made it awkward and hilarious. At one point Bret had to put his hand on the head of the security guard to balance on the rail.

:roll2: Love that picture which has been posted of Bret putting his hand on that security guard's head. Bret needs to be careful before he really does hurt himself on stage ;)

Favorite moment of the night for me: If you watched it on the webcam, you can see that the seats at Red Rocks look out over the city of Denver. They sang "Jenny", and I love, love, love the section of "We just looked out' across the city from our little spot on the hilltop. Oh, It is so pretty from way up there. We talked about how the lights from the buildings and cars seemed like reflections of the stars that shined out so pretty and bright, that night." (Beyond the comedic context, I just think it's a truly pretty piece of songwriting.) So listening to that line, while looking out at the lights of the buildings and cars, and looking up to see the stars... way cool!

That is such a beautiful description. I LOVE that part in Jenny and I can only imagine how amazing it would have been to hear those lyrics being played in that venue :)

Bus Drivers Song (hoooray!-- my favorite Conchords song, and I loved Jemaine and Nigel harmonizing on some of the parts)

I've listened to a recording of this song at other shows and I agree, the harmonizing is brilliant! :D

Hi all, thanks for the warm welcome(s). I've lurked here for 2 years, but this is the first time I've gotten around to posting.
LauraK wrote:PS- Did Bret get to do his usual acting like he was pulling a girl toward him only to suddenly let go and say "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" during Sugalumps, or were they too far from the front row?

LauraK, I couldn't quite tell from that far back, but it sort of looked like he did that. Jemaine definitely pulled a girl out of the audience and danced with her.

We could tell that they were a little bit out of breath at that point, what with the climbing over the railings and the change in altitude in Colo.

:o WHOT?! vids please! ..jealous much! :o
But if you did I'd hold you tight / Into every single night
And we'd fall asleep together / And we'd wake up in the sunlight
Well, maybe I'm a dreamer / But maybe one day you'll see / That dreams are...

That was amazing!! Thanks so much for posting it Laura!!

That was the best version I've ever seen Bret do of the "woah woah woah!" thing. And just the way he sang "securityyyy" cracked me up
And wow, you can really hear Nigel in that video! Just makes me appreciate him even more :D

From Sugalumps. Jemaine: "Whatcha searching for?.......prosthetics?"

Loved how Bret sang "Se-cur-uh-taaaay..."

And yep, you could hear that they were a bit out of breath. I never thought about the altitude....

This show looked/sounded truly epic. Red rocks has been a legendary venue for a bunch of bands... I so wished to be there!!!!!!

Thanks Laura for posting this videos. So happy to see a bit of that show. I really wish to see when their reactions to the crowd... it sounded like a great bunch of 9000 people.

On kind of a side bar, does anyone else think that Robots translates really well in front of a large crowd? They played it at Sasquatch in Seattle last year, and to hear thousands sing in unison "the humans are dead" is pretty much the greatest thing ever...anyways, :topic:

Can't wait to see more and more of these...
