I love this episode so much, it's become one of my favourites of S2 :D (almost definitely in the top three  )

It's actually playing on SBS on Aus tv right this moment (hooray! :D), and it's funny, when Bret's first interviewing Mr and Mrs Lee about being in his gang SBS (which shows quite a few foreign programs and movies) added subtitles to Mr Lee. So what Mrs Lee translates as "he says you have a kind face" is actually something like "he looks pretty weak, I don't think he could take on all those gangsters"

:roll2:
It's all about the music.

Oh really? Thanks for the translation

I really enjoyed the musical theme of this episode. One thing I didn't notice when I watched this a few months ago was that Murray was crying and has tears on his cheek at the end of Hurt Feelings (the reprise). Ah the joys of being able to watch episodes in high definition ;)

I re-watched that episode a few days ago, and the one scene that never fails to make me laugh uproariously is when Jemaine opens the cupboard door and Mr. Lee slaps him.

Thanks so much for answering the burning question. Earlier attempts to get it translated had failed, so this is most appreciated.

The translation is such an inside joke for Mr and Mrs Li! I love it! :roll2:
Oh, fish-like Lady
Lady-like Fish
I don't think so Bro, she's a Lady, Lady, Lady, Lady
No, no, she's a fish that's just a little bit
La-dy-ish! Yeah!

I wish I could remember it more precisely, but I was too busy going  :rolls:

Oh, and Mr Li's bit in "Stay Cool" was translated as "stay calm, Bret" :D
It's all about the music.

I wonder if people are familiar with West Side Story, and how hysterically good a take-off Stay Cool, Bret really is. It slayed me! :roll2:

Heh, I love how the police get angry at Bret for kicking the kid in the shin. Then they say the kid's not well liked, so Bret gets off.

Just finished watching this episode and was wondering (because my son won't) if anyone could screencap me the painting of Bret and Jemaine?? :D I would be eternally grateful.

Yesterday, I was only able to catch the first 3 episodes before leaving my friend's house and I can't believe how many details I missed the first time around. Like the way Dave escaped out the window of their apartment and fell backwards. I don't remember seeing that the first time I watched it. I also loved how Jemaine looked like he was about to start laughing at any moment during the credits, while he and Mel were walking around the neighborhood.

James Bobin: “It’s like a five-year-old and a three-year-old. Jemaine’s the five-year-old, and Bret’s the three-year-old. They’re both wrong, but the five-year-old thinks he’s right.”
